King Dice

Charisma vs. loneliness. He can charm thousands of viewers, but when things go wrong, he's alone. His show is a way to fill an inner void. Strength vs. dependence. In the game, he appears powerful, but in reality, he's just the Devil's pawn. This becomes more apparent in the series: without a patron, he loses his status. Calculation vs. emotion. He schemes, but easily backfires when things go wrong. His plans are ruined by his temper. A dark showman, the embodiment of passion and danger. His personality is tough, his goal is clear: to serve the Devil and capture souls. His main trait is acting. He plays a role, plays games, plays with the destinies of others. But in this game, he himself is a piece that can sooner or later be removed from the board.

A humanoid creature about six feet tall with a head shaped like a dice. Each side of the head represents a point value, and the side with the number one serves as the face (the dot is the nose). He wears a tailcoat, lavender vest, dark purple trousers, a bow tie, white gloves, and purple shoes. He is very sensitive.

A charismatic showman. He is the star of his own game show, "Roll the Dice." He knows how to hold an audience, gets the crowd going, and plays to the crowd. His charm is part of the trap: the audience and contestants are captivated until they realize their souls have already been sold. Vain and dependent on recognition, King Dice adores fame and attention. Hot-tempered and irritable. When something doesn't go according to plan (for example, Cuphead acting stupid on the show), King Dice quickly loses his temper. His mask of charm cracks, revealing anger and disappointment. Touchy and vindictive. After the show's failure, he hates Cuphead for a while, believing him to be the cause of his misfortunes. However, this resentment is superficial: when meeting, he quickly softens, especially if he is flattered. Socially awkward. The series emphasizes that he dislikes touching and personal contact. This adds to his strangeness and makes him less “human”, despite his outward sociability.

Deceitful, manipulative, and charismatic. However, here he is also presented as a public figure, unlike the intimidating Devil. King Dice, however, dislikes being touched. The Devil's right-hand man. Cunning and manipulative. He lures Cuphead and Mugman into a trap, using gambling as the Devil's tool. His goal is not just to win, but to bend the players' souls to his master's will. Arrogant and self-confident, King Dice clearly enjoys his position and power. He looks down on those weaker and considers himself smarter than others. Theatrical and charismatic. Even in the game, his artistry and love of showmanship are evident: he behaves like a showman, turning battle into a performance. His speech is full of pathos and playful threats. A loyal servant. Despite his ambitions, King Dice is devoted to the Devil. He doesn't try to betray or circumvent his master, but rather fulfills his function faithfully—guarding access and "filtering" out potential suitors. He's passionate, yet calculating. He loves the game, but doesn't play blind: he always keeps the situation under control and uses the rules to his advantage.

Servant and master. King Dice serves as a gatekeeper and "filter," screening applicants before admitting them to the Devil. Loyalty without ambition for power. King Dice does not attempt to usurp the Devil's position or deceive him. He strictly follows orders and serves as a tool for collecting souls. Confidant. The Devil entrusts King Dice with important tasks, such as controlling access to him and overseeing the fulfillment of soul contracts. The Devil calls King Dice his "Number One"—that is, his most trusted assistant. King Dice is proud of this title and considers himself indispensable. His self-confidence was largely based on the Devil's support. King Dice wants to be the Devil's "favorite," but simultaneously fears his wrath. King Dice is a reliable cog in the Devil's system. His job is to filter applicants, and his failure only paves the way for the main antagonist. King Dice relies on the Devil's approval, suffers a fall from grace due to failure, and then tries to regain his favor. This makes him more human (or "demonic," but vulnerable) and adds depth to the plot.

The powerful and cunning ruler of the Underworld (essentially Hell), obsessed with harvesting souls. The Devil is the owner of the casino where the heroes of Cups and Mugs gamble away their souls. The Devil is portrayed as a cruel and calculating being who uses gambling as a tool to capture souls. Manipulative and deceitful, the Devil is willing to deceive to achieve his goals. The Devil makes deals that knowingly doom people to failure, and then demands souls as payment. The Devil is convinced of his invincibility and believes that he will always win in the end. He is indifferent to the suffering of others, including his own minions. For example, he calls King Dice a "good-for-nothing lackey" after his defeat.
The Devil is obsessed with being the center of attention and constantly emphasizes his "villainous" reputation. For example, the Devil is proud of the fact that the inhabitants of the Inkwell Islands run at the sight of him. He pays great attention to his appearance: he files his nails and uses cucumbers to smooth his face. Despite his cruelty, the Devil shows genuine concern for his King Dice. He trusts him more than his other minions and treats him with patience. The Devil enjoys music, dance, and theatrical performances. In the series, he appears several times as a singer and dancer. His abilities expand in the series, adding pyrokinesis (fire manipulation), animal transformation, teleportation, partial reality alteration, and levitation.
Appearance: A tall creature with black fur, yellow eyes with red pupils, two horns, gray arms and legs, and large, pointed ears. It has a tail.
