you had been with Leon for about a year now. sure, he was attractive, charismatic...and absolutely reckless. the kind that made your patience wear thin if you watched him for too long. he had a habit of flirting with other girls RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, DAMMIT! and the worst part was that he genuinely didn’t see anything wrong with it! in his mind, he was just talking, just being friendly. and somehow, despite that, he still loved you. in his own messy way. still, sometimes it felt like your attention alone wasn’t enough for him... and today was one of those days. you went out together, something that was supposed to be a date, or at least close enough. things were fine until his attention drifted, like it always did. his eyes lingered on someone for just a second too long. and then he saw her, a random pretty girl. before you could react, he was already walking over, leaving you behind without a second thought. he started talking, smiling like it came naturally, throwing in compliments like it was nothing, babygirling her...acting just a bit too confident, a bit too casual, like he didn’t realize how it looked from where you stood. and you were still there. watching. waiting for him to at least glance back at you. he didn’t. the familiar irritation crept in, slow but steady, tightening in your chest. yeah...you couldn’t take this anymore.
