School of Vampires

< "Vampire School" is supposedly set in Transylvania, Romania. According to the plot, behind the forest there is a huge vampire castle - the Von Horrific School, where immortal schoolchildren from all over the world study.

Ravena Oxblood is Professor Oxblood's niece. She temporarily transferred to the vampire school. Ravena is a very sweet vampire, kind and gentle. She is also interested in science and inventions. Ravena dresses rather old-fashionedly: a sea-green dress and a matching hat. Little things: Unlike other vampires, Ravenna's bat has a bluer color.

Ashley von Goulfangs was once a vampire, but after being exposed to the sun, he was burned and turned to ash. Despite this, he still attends vampire school and participates in all lessons and activities. Ashley serves as comic relief throughout the series. Ashley is often irritable, sarcastic, and a bit resentful of his friends due to the fact that he's been reduced to a pile of ash and is no longer a vampire. He often laments his condition and tells his friends stories of his time as a vampire, claiming to be the best vampire in the entire country where he hails from. Ashley is very observant and notices things other vampires miss, such as the behavior of others and danger lurking in the castle's environs.

Ashley's best friend is Clot Tratsum, and they are always seen together. Clot carries him in a doll cradle. Not many vampires believe in Clot and his abilities, but Ashley is always by his side, instilling hope and faith in him. Little things: His name is a play on words, because he is a pile of ashes. He claims to be over 300 years old.

Stoker Grimtail Cryptcrawler III is a secondary antagonist and the most annoying vampire in the entire school. He enjoys causing mischief, sabotaging plans, and stealing ideas from other students. He enjoys drinking blood and hiding his feelings and weaknesses. Stoker wears black shoes, cornflower-blue trousers with gold-buckled suspenders, a matching long-sleeved shirt, and a black cape, also fastened with a gold buckle. He has short, slicked-back black hair and thick eyebrows. He is the shortest vampire, not counting Cloth.

Of all the school vampires, he's the most stereotypical in appearance. He resembles Bela Lugosi from the 1931 film adaptation of Dracula, and in the English version, he's named after the original author, Bram Stoker. Stoker is the antihero of the vampire group. He's not an outright villain, but he constantly causes trouble for those around him, rarely listening to anyone but himself, especially during competitions. Stoker has a very defiant demeanor: he considers himself the best and "coolest vampire" in school. Stoker enjoys bullying his classmates, especially Oscar von Horrificius for his hemophobia. He believes there's more to life than just studying, and for this reason, he's drawn to vampire outsiders, as in the case of Buck.

No matter how confident Stoker may seem, he's all talk and no action. He claims he can do anything, but when given a task, he chickens out at the last minute or finds a way to convince others he's done it perfectly. Despite being very self-assured and narcissistic, he also has a more sensitive side. Eventually, he agrees with his friends' plans (albeit deceitfully) and keeps a diary, dreaming of becoming a star. Stoker loves all things red, including blood and tomatoes.

Klot Tratsum is the youngest vampire in the school. He is very innocent and naive, always meaning well, which often leads to him being manipulated or excluded from school events, such as the Vampire Games. Klot's best friend is Ashley von Gulfang. Klot's father, Klaus Tratsum, is a renowned pianist and was best friends with Count von Horrificius as a child. Klot is much younger than all the other baby vampires and is therefore the smallest of them all. He wears black boots, light blue shorts, a light blue shirt, and a small blue cape tied in front. Klot is most distinctive for his large yellow-orange round hat with dark brown trim. He has short brown hair cut into a bowl cut.

Mole's large yellow hat is reminiscent of the hats worn by characters in the Madeline franchise. His sailor suit may be modeled after Robbie's outfit from the 1992 HBO special "Children's Garden of Rhymes." Mole's winter hat is also similar to the one Robbie wears when floating on his bed. Klot is very naive and sweet, just like a child. He is easily influenced by his peers, and sometimes this gets him into trouble. Unlike other vampires, he is easily frightened and often cries when he finds himself in a frightening situation. When he is scared, he usually runs to Gotta Gotticus, whom he considers an older sister. Despite his young age, Klot has repeatedly proven himself to be an intelligent and successful vampire, and has even helped his friends out of difficult situations thanks to his childlike innocence. Klot is always close to his best friend, Ashley von Gulfang, and can often be seen with him in a doll cradle until Lychee makes him a robot that Klot can control independently in season four. Few vampires believe in Klot and his vampiric abilities, but Ashley is always by Klot's side.

Klot mentioned that due to the success of his father, the famous pianist Klaus, he feels pressure from his father, who wants him to also succeed in music.

Lichi von Lebanlos is the smartest and most nerdy of the bunch. Considered a child prodigy, he's usually seen inventing new inventions for his friends. They often fail. Peechi's demeanor and appearance resemble those of a typical nerd. Peechi is a very bright student, and the teachers constantly praise him for his work. Peechi enjoys conducting experiments during class and usually succeeds on the first try, whether it's hypnosis or manipulating his shadow. Peechi wears a pair of glasses that cover his left eye but also zoom in and out like a camera lens. These help him judge distances and see close-ups when working on his inventions. Of all the vampires in the school, Peechi is most drawn to Oscar von Horrificius and is quite close to him. He is always there when Oscar needs help. Peechi isn't particularly athletic, but he is always collected and ready to help his friends in trouble. Little things: Of all the vampires, Lichi has the sharpest teeth. It is unknown whether the name Lychee is a combination of the words "leech" and "botanist".

Lenny is the school's caretaker. He enjoys cooking for the school and often treats the students as equals. He's not only the caretaker, but also the chef, janitor, caretaker, and nurse—Lenny takes on any job. Lenny is very protective of his students, especially when it comes to Paulus Polidori, and is willing to help them in any situation. Lenny often feels different from the rest of the clan because, unlike them, he was bitten by a vampire, not born one. On the anniversary of his bite, he becomes depressed and sullen.

Unlike other adult inhabitants of the castle, Lenny always helps the children, listens to their ideas and problems and does everything to help them. Little things: He speaks with a British accent. He looks like Riff Raff from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Professor Archibald Oxblood is a teacher at the vampire school. He specializes in vampire tactics, including hypnosis, shadow control, and other vampire abilities. He is the school's head teacher and teaches students not only tactics but also morality and loyalty. He is Ravenna Oxblood's uncle. Professor Oxblood is a strict and stern teacher, yet fair. He values ​​his students' opinions and strives to guide them in the right direction during class. He always encourages his students, regardless of whether they've excelled at an assignment or failed a lesson. Despite his wisdom and kindness, Professor Oxblood is somewhat naive, especially when it comes to listening to his students. Whenever students try to warn him, Count Alaric von Horrific, or Lady Cryptina, he dismisses them and says it's up to the adults. Professor Oxblood also believes he has beautiful long red hair, which he hasn't cut since he was a young vampire, but he's unaware that he's gradually going bald. Professor Oxblood is a wonderful teacher and loves his students dearly, no matter how unruly they may be. Little things: He resembles Count Orlok from Nosferatu, especially in that his fangs are his two front teeth.

Count Alaric von Horrificius is the headmaster of the vampire school and the uncle of Oskar von Horrificius. He is friends with the school's professors, but little is known about the Count, as he is a very enigmatic character and prefers to keep everything secret. The Count is tall and thin, with sharp features, long fangs, and a mustache. He has long brown hair and wears a cloak and a top hat. His eyes are completely red, without pupils or irises. Count Horrible is a regal, stern, and self-assured vampire who has seen and experienced much in his life. Count Horrible oversees all financial matters and problems at the vampire school, and when students have problems, they are sent to him for punishment. Count Horrible can be quite impatient and hot-tempered, but deep down, he is a gentle and kind vampire who bears emotional scars. When problems arise at the school, the Count often ignores his students' warnings and tells them to deal with adults. However, he trusts his students and often leaves them alone in the castle. Because the headmaster is his uncle, Oscar often feels pressured by his family history, and Count Horrible constantly reminds him that he must bring glory to the Horrible name.

Lady Cryptina is a professor at the vampire school, but she is best known for teaching physical education. Lady Cryptina is a very confident and independent vampire, strong and athletic. She teaches students survival skills, vampire games, and takes them on long flights to strengthen their wings. Despite her physical prowess, she is highly intelligent and can outwit enemies such as Paulus Polidori. She is also very witty and sarcastic, and enjoys teasing her colleagues: Count Alaric von Horrificius and Professor Oxblood. Lady Cryptina is very elegant and dresses in the latest vampire fashion. Gottette Gotticus claims that she is her inspiration. Little things: Lady Cryptina's costume is a reference to the white dress and hat worn by Lucy Westenra after she was turned into a vampire in the 1992 film Bram Stoker's Dracula, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Underneath her hat, Lady Cryptina has long reddish-brown hair, which is also a reference to the character Dracula. Her name, which sounds similar to the word "crypt," may be a reference to the 1992 film. Indeed, one of the film's most famous scenes takes place in the crypt, and it is there that we first see Lucy Westenra as a vampire, wearing the famous white suit that served as the inspiration for her character's costume.

Sunshine is a sweet, loving, very friendly, and optimistic girl. She loves helping people (most often her grandfather), even if it means inconvenience. However, she can be very down-to-earth and realistic, doesn't see much point in Oscar overthinking things or being dramatic (mostly because she doesn't know he's a vampire), and can sometimes act a bit rude and selfish—likely due to her feelings for Oscar. For example, she gets angry at him for forgetting the scarf he gave her for her birthday and for not noticing her new hairstyle, and snaps at him.

She's easily embarrassed by her grandfather and his crazy vampire-slaying antics. She often gets annoyed with him, calling him stupid and crazy. Because of her grandfather's antics, she refuses to invite her town friends over after he burst into the room with a burning wheel and stink bombs, thinking he heard a vampire spell. Little things: Her parents or other relatives are unknown. Her surname refers to John William Polidori, who is believed to have written one of the first books about vampires, namely "The Vampyre" in 1819.

Oscar wears turquoise shorts, blue shoes, a green vest over a white button-down shirt, and a red tie. He has tousled black hair with many strands. Sometimes, he wears a green jacket instead of a vest. Oscar is a very kind-hearted, sincere, and rather gentle person. He's always ready to support his friends and does everything possible to ensure everyone is happy and safe, regardless of the risks and consequences, and is fair even to bullies like Stoker.

Oscar is a vegetarian and doesn't particularly enjoy traditional vampire food. However, aside from hemophobia, Oscar possesses most vampire traits: he sleeps in a coffin, hates garlic, has sensitive pale skin that can turn to ash when exposed to sunlight, has fangs, can transform into a bat, manipulate his shadow, and has no reflection in mirrors or on film. Nevertheless, Oscar is very different from other vampires and is often aware of how different he is.

Because his uncle is the school's headmaster, Oscar often feels the weight of family history, and Count Alaric constantly reminds him that he must bring glory to the Horrificus name. Stoker Flasher often makes fun of his character traits, and they constantly bicker over trivial matters. Despite the circumstances, Oscar somehow manages to pass his exams in every graduating class, making his uncle and the other teachers proud. Little things: Gotetta and Oscar are the only pets. He was brought to the castle on a vampire ship and lived with his uncle since childhood, although the reason for this is not revealed.

Gotette is a fierce and very confident vampire. She stands up for herself and shaves her sides in a very modern style. She wears a dark pink (burgundy) dress, similar to her hair, consisting of two parts and revealing her midriff. Gotette is the most level-headed of her friends and usually acts as the voice of reason. When one of her friends gets into trouble, Gotette gets annoyed, but still helps. Gotette also acts as an older sister, especially to Clot Tratsum, who often runs up to her and takes her hand. Despite her hard work, she sometimes gets into trouble, but her friends are always ready to help her. When it comes to things she doesn't like, she doesn't hesitate to criticize, especially when it comes to Oscar von Horrificius and his crush on Sunshine Polidori, a human girl. Little things: Gotetta's hairstyle is called a "ponytail with shaved sides." It's unclear whether she has shaved sides or is simply bald in those areas. When she lets her hair down, it looks quite unruly and frizzy, which is probably why she puts it up. Gotetta and Oscar are the only ones who have pets. She considers Lady Cryptina her ideal of beauty.
