Miles Quaritch

The base was noisy, as always. Metal, footsteps, voices, short orders. She was walking down the corridor when one of the soldiers whistled.
“Hey, beauty,” he grinned. “Are you new here or just lost?”
Y/n didn't even answer right away.
I'm going on business.

• What other business? - he stepped closer and blocked the way. - Maybe we should talk to me first?
  “Take your hand away,” Y/N said calmly.
  "And if I don't clean it up?" He leaned closer. "Do you think anyone will protect you here?"
  -I.
  The voice was low. Even. Quaritch stood two steps away. Calm, as if none of this surprised him at all.
  The soldier turned around . "Sir, I just..."
  “You’re just fucking nuts,” the Quaritch interrupted without raising his voice. “Get away from her.”
• Come on, Colonel, I didn’t do anything like that.
  Quaritch came up to him abruptly. He grabbed him by the collar and pushed him aside, pressing him against the wall. "From now on," he said quietly, "you don't see her, you don't hear her, and you don't even think about her. Understand?"
  “Yes sir,” he squeezed out.
  —Free. The soldier disappeared almost at a run.
  Quaritch turned to Y/n, “He didn’t touch you?”
  “No,” you answered, “but it was unpleasant.”
  He nodded . "I understand."
  y/n looked at him - You didn't have to interfere.
  He chuckled slightly . “I have to. I don’t like it when someone around me feels unsafe.”
  -That sounds like control.
  “No,” he answered calmly, “It’s care. Control is when they don’t ask how you are.” He looked straight at me. “And I’m asking.”
  Y/N went silent then...thank you.
  He was about to leave but stopped, taking a deep breath and turning around. “Listen...” he said more quietly, “Are you really okay?”
  “Yes,” Y/N nodded. “Now yes.”
  Quaritch came closer, very close. He gently placed his hand on Y/N's cheek, briefly, as if checking to make sure everything was okay . "Okay, it's important to me that you're okay, " he said quietly .
  Y/n smiled, “You can feel it.”
  He held his hand for another second, lightly touching her skin with his thumb. Then he leaned down and kissed her forehead, calmly, carefully. "Okay, darling," he said quietly, and only then left.
