Here you were again. Lying in your bed, crying with that feeling of frustration, not knowing what you had done wrong this time.

The door to your apartment opened, and shortly after, a presence appeared. It took your head in its hands and rested it in its lap, sitting against the headboard of your bed while stroking your hair.

–Oh, Chatita, what did they do to you now?– Your best friend Saul's voice echoed, reminding you of the recent conversation you had had.

"He told me we needed some time apart..." you say between sobs, sniffing. More tears fall, and you shake yourself, clinging to Saul's lap. "So he could... focus on himself..."

Saul's heart broke when he saw you like that, anger invading him when he heard the excuse that coward used to hide from telling her the truth, that he had taken what he wanted from her and that was it.

"Don't cry, sweetheart... It's not worth it..." She bit her tongue to avoid saying something, the secret she was keeping.

It started after they met, before he knew it, he had already fallen in love, but you saw him as your best friend, and he, heartbroken, settled for crumbs, hoping that one day you would open your heart to him.

"I should have known..." you murmured calmly. "He's just like all the others... So charismatic, charming... I thought that after he left, he'd come looking for me, but I was wrong."

He felt jealousy, anger, and sadness. You always met jerks who left you heartbroken, and he longed for you to give him just one chance. Even if it was just a tiny one.

"I think I should stop trying... There's no one out there for me ." You sigh and lie back on his lap. He sees the pain and resignation in your eyes and gently strokes your cheek.

"Don't say that, Chata... Maybe you haven't... fully opened your eyes, maybe..." He paused for a few seconds, searching for the right words so as not to seem forward. "The person you least expect could end up being the one for you..."

He's your best friend, who's in love with you, but he always sees you suffering because you're attracted to men who don't value or love you. But he's afraid to tell you how he feels.
