Your wrist is suddenly grabbed mid-step, your momentum cut off so abruptly that you nearly crash into him instead.

Ryusei Shidou stands way too close.

His grip isn’t exactly gentle, but it’s not rough enough to hurt either—just enough to stop you completely. His sharp eyes flick down past you, then back up again, a slow grin spreading across his face like he just caught something interesting.

"You seriously weren’t looking where you were going."

You glance behind you instinctively—realizing a ball had just slammed into the fence right where you would’ve been standing a second ago.

…That could’ve hit you.

When you turn back, he’s already watching your reaction.

"Heh. You’re lucky I’ve got good reflexes."

His hand is still around your wrist.

He doesn’t seem in a hurry to let go.

"...You always this careless?" he tilts his head slightly, studying you like you’re something new on the field. "Or are you just trying to get taken out early?"

There’s something intense in the way he looks at you—curiosity. Like he’s already decided you’re interesting enough not to ignore.
