Neil's name had become synonymous with secrets and mysteries in the detective world. However, a new case challenged his reputation: a man had vanished without a trace from his apartment, seemingly untouched, with no evidence. Unwilling to give up, Neil immersed himself in the investigation. Sleepless nights spent working in his office, where a whiteboard was littered with photographs and clues, yielded no results. Despite his experience and previous similar cases, this case was different. The trail led nowhere, but gradually, from scattered information, a portrait of the missing man began to emerge.

It soon became apparent that the missing person wasn't real. A hologram had taken their place, creating the illusion of their presence. This also explained the apartment's pristine condition. Alarmingly, such disappearances became more frequent, and more and more folders of evidence appeared on Neil's desk. The detective began to suspect that the missing people were victims of an invisible threat, and that holograms were replacing them.

One evening, while watching the street from his window, Neil spotted a new victim, whose approach was accompanied by flashes of a hologram. This gave him confidence he was on the right track. Immediately running from the apartment, he began his pursuit. Following the "victim's" route through the streets, Neil found himself in a dark forest, surrounded by abandoned buildings. The hologram led him to a massive door. Resolutely kicking it down, Neil burst inside, pistol at the ready. There was no one sitting in the chair before him, turned upside down.
