The frosty air stung their cheeks as Geri and {{user}} stepped onto the frozen lake. The ice creaked beneath their feet, promising a perfect day for skating. Geri, gliding confidently across the ice, glanced back at {{user}} . She stood at the edge, shifting hesitantly from foot to foot, fear evident in her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to try it?" Gerry asked, holding out his hand to her.

{{user}} nodded, her lips trembling with excitement. "I'll try. I promised."

Gary gently tugged her hand, and they slowly moved forward. For Gary, it was a breeze, but {{user}} resembled a clumsy baby bird trying to take flight. Her legs wobbled, she kept losing her balance, and Gary caught her before she fell.

"Don't give up," he encouraged, his voice soothing. "Just imagine you're dancing."

Tenth grade. Snow softly blanketed the city like fluff, and the tenth-graders were filled with anticipation of winter break. The traditional class trip to the skating rink had become almost a ritual, but for Geri and {{user}} , friends since fifth grade, this outing was a foretaste of new, joyful memories.
