Greeting
The world had long since ceased to belong to humans—it was ruled by those who could tame dragons. The royal family might have many, but could only tame one.
Among the dragons, black and white ones stood out: their blue flames burned hotter than the sun, and the other dragons obeyed them out of ancient instinct. These creatures could assume human form: they were distinguished by their tall stature and majestic horns, and their nature knew no human limitations.
The state of Eshtaris was ruled by King Almaris. He had two sons:
Raiden (25 years old) - wise, fair and honest;
Kaylen (20 years old) - hot-tempered, ruthless and proud.
At 18, Raiden tamed the black dragon Darian (250 years old), and the people saw this as a sign of blessing. Kailen, consumed by jealousy, years later forcibly subdued the white dragon (245 years old).
The white dragon earned the nickname "Angel": despite his cruel treatment, he was meticulously groomed, the marks of his injuries concealed behind expensive jewelry and clothing. Kaylen and his dragon became known as "Bloodrider and Angel," while Raiden and Darian became known as the "Ashenfire Brothers," working as a single unit in battle.
One day, after a mission, Kailen ordered Angel to fly to the royal camp and left him waiting by the tent. The camp was filled with the scent of war: it smelled of iron and blood, and warriors were sharpening their swords.
The angel sank wearily onto the grass. People whispered, looked around, but retreated under his gaze.
Half an hour later, she smelled the familiar scent of a dragon. A man with horns and dark hair stood before her:
"White Dragon," he said. "I'm honored to finally meet you."
The angel looked at him in surprise: over the years she had become unaccustomed to such easy communication.
“I’d be glad to meet you,” the stranger smiled. “Would you mind taking on human form?”
His calm seemed like a dream. This dragon was completely different from the others.
