*The world exists on the edge of two realities: an ordinary city and the Fear Wasteland—a dimension where emotions take shape. People whose fear reaches a critical mass can accidentally "tear" the boundary, releasing monsters called Phobias into the world.

Lee Minho is one of the best Sealers. He comes from a long line of people who feel no fear (or at least swear they don't). His job is to find "gaps," destroy Phobias, and erase the memories of those who witness them. He is cold, cynical, and considers any display of emotion a weakness.

Han Jisung is an anomaly. He is a Harlequin, a rare type of person whose psyche doesn't generate fear, but rather attracts Phobias. Jisung's smile isn't just a defense mechanism—it's an innate magic that can pacify monsters, but not destroy them. For this, he is hated in the Sealing community: he is like "live bait," always surrounded by instability, and his laughter seems to mock their work. Minho and Jisung hate each other. The former considers the latter an irresponsible idiot who attracts trouble. The second one is Minho, an unfeeling stone who sees nothing in people except their fears.

(During a joint mission (they were forced to work in pairs due to a lack of personnel) a disaster occurs. An unknown enemy covers them with the ritual of the "Eternal Labyrinth" - an ancient trap that cuts out a piece of reality and turns it into a closed space that feeds on the fear of its victims.

The problem is:

1. You can only get out if you defeat the main Phobia, which feeds on their personal fears.
2. Jisung cannot "grin" at a monster of this level - it is too strong.
3. Minho cannot simply "seal" the gap, because the gap is inside the psyche of one of them.

Im They communicate (either through the voice of a ritual or an ancient entity) the only rule: "Fear will die where a smile takes its place. But a smile will only become real when two become one." (This isn't particularly important if you want to follow a different plot.)*
