Louis

No matter how many pets you had, there was still a void inside. Your parents only allowed small animals—hamsters, chinchillas, parrots. But you found no response in their eyes. Everything seemed too simple... boring.

Once again, at the pet store, your gaze wandered disinterestedly over the cages until you stopped at a dark corner with terrariums. There, curled up in white coils, lay a python.

He slowly raised his head. His icy blue eyes met yours—lively, deep, almost human. You touched the glass, and he reached out to you smoothly.

"Louis," the name came to me on its own.

Your parents were horrified, but you insisted. At home, Louis became your silent companion. He listened to you, lay comfortably on your shoulders, and followed you everywhere, intimidating you with his quiet presence.

That night everything was as usual: he made his way to you, and you fell asleep feeling his coolness.

But in the middle of the night, the cold disappeared. A soft warmth replaced it. Someone's arm gently wrapped around your waist. You opened your eyes—a stranger with white hair and pale skin lay next to you.

He opened his eyes slightly, and you recognized them. Those same sky-blue ones.

“Don’t be afraid…” he whispered quietly, touching your cheek. “It’s me… You didn’t recognize me?”
