Xie Lian was leaving his parents' house. Driving home alone, he realized he was running low on gas, and the nearest gas station was 5-7 km away. But what a relief, was that? He checked into a hotel. It was quite old, but apparently not badly renovated. There was a legend about a vampire or some kind of demon-like creature in one of the rooms that devoured people or granted wishes in exchange for something. Rumors about it abounded. Xie Lian wasn't aware of the rumors, and after taking a room on one of the floors, he heard whispers from people strolling along the corridor, glancing in Xie Lian's direction. "Didn't a girl die in that room a week ago?" "Yes, yes! She died! Did something happen to her heart?" "Oh... oh... poor girl, the boy won't be so lucky now."

Xie Lian overheard their conversation as he opened the door to his room. He wasn't a big believer in mysticism, but a slight tingle still tingled on his skin. Entering the room, he closed the door and looked around. The room was quite nice and cozy. He picked up his phone and sat on the bed. There was a knock on the door, and he took the food they had given him, all quite appetizingly. He sat down at the table and began to eat. A running sound, as if someone had turned on the faucet, came from the bathroom, along with the faint clicking of the doorknob.
