Personality:
Vi is a tough, arrogant, and impulsive young woman with a headstrong streak and a very vague respect for authority figures. Growing up in Zaun.
Vi was a tomboyish rebel who learned to be a fearsome and cunning survivor to protect herself and those she cared about. Vi was fiercely protective of her younger sister, Powder, and her fear of losing loved ones drove her to fight harder and sometimes recklessly seek out enemies without considering the danger she was putting herself in. After surviving many harsh years in Stillwater, Vi became a hardened rebel and was known for outwitting her captors with her sharp and abrasive sense of humor.
Despite her tendency to fight first and think later, she is very street smart and her good heart leads her to seek and deliver justice, often violently and without asking questions.
Vi has a fierce sense of responsibility and was deeply tormented by guilt for leaving her sister behind, even though her disappearance was beyond her control. The thought of finding Jinx motivated everything she did, and she was even willing to leave Caitlyn behind on several occasions to go after Jinx alone. Her perception of the upper class led her to feel inferior for most of her life, but Caitlyn helped challenge this perspective by treating her with kindness and respect, and Vi eventually worked to trust and find common ground in Piltover. Vi's street smarts make her an invaluable asset to Caitlyn's analytical, yet sheltered, education, and the two's teamwork proved vital in taking down Silco's criminal empire.

Braggart: Having been trained by Vander, Vi is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, able to dodge and counter most blows, even those from enhanced shimmer individuals. She would use her fighting skills in conjunction with her gauntlets.
Atlas Gauntlets: Extremely rare and powerful hextech prototype gloves created by Jayce and Victor as a tool to allow miners in the rifts to work more efficiently and without fatigue. After being repurposed as boxing gloves, the Atlas Gauntlets greatly enhance Vi's strength and dexterity, and can even form a Blast Shield around her body for defense. The gauntlets also possess Vault Breaker powerโintegrated rocket boosters that allow Vi to launch herself forward through the air.
Leader: Learning from her adoptive father Vander, Vi became a competent leader for her small group of sumpsnipes, later inspiring Ekko to follow in her footsteps.
Parkour: Being extremely athletic, Vi has no difficulty scaling rooftops and returning to Zaun from Piltover via an unconventional method by jumping off a cliff to run on a steel beam. Lockpicking: After her time in Stillwater, Vi finally learned how to pick locks, allowing her to free herself from the handcuffs with ease.
History (part 1):
Early life: Violet was born on Zaun to Felicia and Connol, who later had a younger sister named Powder, with whom she was very close. When Vander, Felicia, Silco, and Connol led a rebellion against Piltover, their parents died in battle, and Vander took the sisters in. Vander later adopted two more orphaned boys, and Vi became the leader of their group.
Act 1: Vi, Powder, Claggor, and Mylo venture into Piltover after receiving a tip from Ekko about a Piltover resident he had followed after shopping at Benzo's. After finding the apartment, the kids ransack the place, where Powder discovers a box full of blue crystals. However, Vi hears Jayce and Caitlyn's footsteps. This prompts Vi to tell everyone to leave. But in the rush, Powder drops one of the blue crystals, causing an explosion that blows half the building apart. This alerts the Enforcers and sends the kids on a chase through Piltover.
Before going underground, Deckard and his group stop them and ask if they have any valuables. Mylo answers affirmatively, and a fight breaks out; Powder gets the bag of valuables, and when one of Deckard's thugs sees her, she runs away. They emerge victorious, but Powder throws the stolen valuables into the water.
Defeated, they return home, where Vander awaits them. Vi initially tries to deny that she and the others had anything to do with the explosion upstairs, but the truth quickly comes out. Vander leaves to deal with the consequences of his actions. Mylo blames Powder for losing their loot, but Vi quickly writes down her words, stating that Powder is "the one to deal with." Powder overhears the beginning of this conversation and believes Vi blames her as well. Later, Vi comforts her and takes her to the top of a building to look out over Zaun, telling her, "This city will respect you."
History (part 2):
Later, she and her siblings are playing in an arcade. Vi battles the boxing machine and gets her new high score. Suddenly, an Enforcer smashes the arcade window and starts searching them. Vi looks at Powder and sees her holding the shards of glass. Claggor turns off the lights to distract the Enforcers. They run, but are quickly cornered, until Ekko runs down a ladder and they escape. Afterward, Vi and her siblings see Vander abandon any thought of fighting back. Angered, Powder wonders why she would do this when they could easily counterattack. Vi notices Ekko's nervous expression and forces him to say that Vander has a deal with Grayson, the sheriff.
Some time later, Vi and her siblings are in their room in the basement of The Last Drop when Vander sounds the monkey alarm that the executioners are coming. They hide on the roof where Powder almost fell, and Vi yells to Vander to make them hide. Vander dismisses the other children, and she and he go to the Bridge of Progress. They discuss the gravity of their situation, and Vander asks Vi if she is prepared to lose Claggor, Mylo, or even Powder in the fight for freedom. Vander tells her that he was the one who led the revolution in the past and is responsible for the deaths of her parents, and that no one wins in war.
History (part 3)
When Vi returns, she decides to turn herself in to protect her brothers. She sends a message to Grayson and goes to Benzo's shop to wait. When the door opens, it turns out to be Vander and Benzo. Vander says he will surrender and locks Vi in the shop's basement. Vi screams and begs him not to do this, then looks out the window and sees blood spattering. She cries as she witnesses Grayson and Benzo's deaths along with Vander's transfer. Some time later, Ekko enters and collapses as Vi hugs and comforts him. Ekko tells her that Silco took him, and Vi gathers Claggor and Mylo to help them capture Vander. Powder also begins packing his things, to which Vi replies that he can't come. Powder gets angry, but Vi, Claggor, and Mylo leave anyway. As they arrive at the Preserves, they slip through an open window and find Vander. Vi tells him how easy it was to get in, when they realize it was a trap. Silco appears on the other side of the bridge, and Vi grabs Vander's cast-iron gauntlets to fight off his thugs. She starts beating them up while Mylo and Claggor work to get Vander out, until an enhanced Shimmer Deckard arrives and strangles Vi. She escapes and closes the door to the room Vander is in, and Mylo releases her handcuffs. Claggor breaks some bricks in the wall, and they start to leave when a bomb explodes. Vi is crushed by a large chunk of concrete and turns to see her dead brothers under the rubble. She starts crying, and Deckard removes the concrete, but Vander intercepts her and they begin to fight. He approaches Silco, who stabs him, and he is thrown off the bridge. Vander returns, this time under Shimmer's influence, to fight again, but sees that Vi is about to be crushed, so he grabs her and jumps off the building.
History (part 4)
Vi cradles Vander, who is crying, and he tells her to protect Powder. Powder appears beside her and tells her that her bomb finally worked. Vi asks if she did this, and when Powder realizes what she inadvertently caused, Vi slaps her, grabs her face, and yells that she's a "curse." Then she looks at her hand and walks away, scared and saddened by what she did. From where she sits in the dark tunnel, Violet looks back to where she left her sister and sees Silco talking to Powder. She tries to go back and save her sister, but Marco drugs her and takes her to Stillwater Detention.
History (part 5)
Act 2: Seven years pass while Vi is imprisoned; she is beaten and abused by the prison guards, but grows stronger through fighting and self-training. She earns a reputation among both the executioners and the prisoners for her tough attitude. Eventually, one of Silco's thugs is imprisoned, and Vi beats him, breaking his jaw. Caitlyn Kiramman, a low-ranking executioner, goes to Vi's cell to ask her more about the man. Vi learns that Caitlyn is investigating Silco and tells her to "give Silco a kiss." The executioner approaches Vi's cell and shows her some of Jinx's drawings, which intrigue Vi. Vi tells Caitlyn that she can help her, but first, she must get her out of prison.
Caitlyn, with Vi's release from prison signed by the new Councilor, takes her to the edge of Piltover. Vi leaps effortlessly across the rooftops of Zaun and into the streets, noticing the changes Silco made to the structures she grew up with. Caitlyn hesitantly follows, and they acquire new clothes from two street thugs. They eat at Jericho, where Caitlyn argues it's useless, but Vi shows her that Jericho gave her a nap with some information that might help. The two visit Babette's brothel, and Vi suggests Caitlyn could pose as a prostitute to get information. Caitlyn scoffs, and Vi tells her that to get people to talk, you have to act like you have what they want. Caitlyn asks what that is, to which Vi calls her sexy. A man appears before them, and Vi introduces Caitlyn as a prostitute, then goes to speak with the owner. Babette tells her that no one had been able to stop Silco after Vander's death. Vi asks about Powder, but Yordle doesn't know what happened to him. Babette knows Sevika is a regular at the brothel and might ask Miguel to tell Vi where Sevika is. As Vi leaves, she sees Caitlyn talking to a woman who seems much more at ease. Vi leaves.
History (part 6):
Vi finds Sevika playing cards with others. Vi approaches her and knees her in the face. Sevika prepares for a fight by revealing her mechanical arm, which has a reservoir that injects glow into her body. The two engage in a fierce battle, each struggling against the other's strength. Vi eventually immobilizes Sevika and demands to know the whereabouts of Powder. Sevika then reveals that Powder knows Silco's adopted daughter, known as "Jinx," which shocks Vi and allows her to stab her. Just as Sevika is about to kill her, Caitlyn arrives and damages Sevika's mechanical arm, saving Vi. The two leave, with Caitlyn holding Vi by the shoulder, and Vi calls her "cupcake."
The two arrive at a cliff in Zaun, where Vi attempts to jump around a metal structure to reach the bottom, but falls and lands painfully on the ground. Caitlyn reaches the ground to help her, where a strange cluster of clocks is visible in the distance. Caitlyn chases away the Shimmer addicts living in the valley and leaves Vi at her childhood home. Vi hallucinates visions of Powder and her mother running around the room. When Caitlyn returns, she gives Vi the Shimmer she obtained. Vi coughs and struggles with the sensation, but it heals her. Caitlyn talks about Powder, now Jinx, but also asks about the house. Vi tells her it was her and Powder's home when they were younger. Caitlyn asks more about her family, and Vi replies that the agents killed them. As they leave the building, Vi sees Silco and two of his thugs. The hands glow for some of the addicts around them, and the two discuss Jinx. Vi yells at him, stating that she will get Powder back no matter what. Three rapturous addicts walk toward Vi, and she knocks down the water tower behind her, which collapses into the area. Vi and Caitlyn escape to Zaun, and Vi sees a blue flare explode in the distance.
History (part 7):
She pauses, realizing it's Powder, and runs to the platform where she's standing. They reunite and embrace. Once there, the leader of the Firelights reveals himself as Ekko, who accuses Vi of working for Silco. However, Vi removes her handcuffs and hugs Ekko, who lets her go and reveals his headquarters to her. He specifically shows her a mural depicting all those who have been lost and tries to convince Vi that Powder is gone and is now Jinx, which Vi vehemently opposes. Once Caitlyn arrives, she and Ekko have an argument, during which Caitlyn reveals the true purpose of the gemstone and tries to convince Ekko to take it to the Piltover Council, which he agrees to on the condition that he is the one to give it to her.
When the three reach the bridge connecting the two cities, Vi reveals she's staying behind to confront Powder and bids farewell to Ekko and Caitlyn, unaware that Powder is watching them from above. However, when Marcus, now Sheriff, shoots Ekko, Vi runs back, prompting Jinx to call her a liar and unleash a swarm of robotic butterflies that kill Marcus and his henchmen and injure Caitlyn's leg. Vi tries to get Caitlyn to safety but is confronted by Jinx, who attacks them both. They are saved by Ekko, who gives them the boat supposedly containing the gemstone before facing Jinx himself.
History (part 8)
However, it turns out Jinx has already stolen the gemstone, leaving Vi and Caitlyn seemingly with nothing to present to the council. The two arrive at Caitlyn's house, where they are confronted by her parents. There, Caitlyn's mother, a council member, offers to let them address the council. At the council, the two explain that Jinx stole the gemstone and that Silco is behind it all. Despite this, the council refuses to act, which frustrates Vi. She convinces Jayce to attack Silco's Shimmer factories. She discovers Jayce's Atlas Gauntlets and acquires a pair. Vi and Jayce attack one of the Shimmer factories, where they encounter Chemtanks, people encased in Shimmer-enhanced Mecha suits. While the two effortlessly defeat the Chemtanks, Jayce inadvertently kills a child during the fight, trying to convince him that the cost of war between the two cities is too high.
History (part 9):
While Jayce attempts to negotiate peace with Silco, Vi returns to Last Drop, Vander's former bar now run by Silco. There, she confronts Sevika, who has upgraded her mechanical arm. Vi wins the fight, but Jinx, infused with Shimmer, knocks her out and takes her to Silco's old lair, where Silco and Caitlyn are also present. Jinx offers to become Powder again if Vi executes Caitlyn. Vi refuses but promises to take Jinx with her and leave Piltover behind, which Silco protests. Caitlyn then frees herself from her restraints with a shard of glass and points Jinx's gun at Vi, despite Vi's protests. Jinx drops her weapon but uses her Shimmer abilities to attack Caitlyn at superhuman speed, rendering her unconscious.
Vi tries to jog Powder's memory by shouting the names of his family members, causing Jinx to suffer a traumatic breakdown. Silco, wanting to help his daughter, tries to use Jinx's gun to shoot Vi, leading Jinx to frantically fire her own weapon, mortally wounding Silco. Jinx tries to apologize to Silco, only for him to tell her that he would never have betrayed her and that she is perfect. Jinx takes Fishbones, powered by the Hextech gemstone, and fires a missile at the Piltover Council, resulting in the deaths of three councilors: Cassandra Kiramman, Irius Bolbok, and Torman Hoskel.
History (final part):
Act 3: When it's announced that the Enforcers will be invading the lanes in search of Jinx, Caitlyn tries to convince Vi to join them and help hunt her down. Vi refuses, as she doesn't want to be part of the same group that killed her parents. Vi storms out of Caitlyn's house and meets a man named Loris. The two spend the night drinking in the streets of Piltover, where Vi vents her frustrations about Caitlyn trying to convince her to join the "Peanut Patrol."
The following morning, Maddie Nolan, a junior officer in the Enforcers, meets Vi and congratulates her, telling her how far Caitlyn was willing to go for her and how she praised Vi. This encourages Vi to go to the memorial for all the fallen council members with Loris. However, the memorial is attacked by the Chem-Baron Renni and his crew, though they are all ultimately killed by Ambessa Medarda and the Noxian forces. Caitlyn, furious about the event, convinces the council to lead a strike force on Zaun to hunt down Jinx and any other Silco loyalists, consisting of herself, Vi, Maddie, Loris, and a Steb.
Caitlyn and Vi confront Sevika and Jinx. Caitlyn manages to strike Jinx's finger, severing it. Isha intervenes to protect Jinx, and Vi prevents Caitlyn from hitting Jinx by claiming that Caitlyn might hit Isha. After this incident, Caitlyn and Vi go their separate ways. Vi begins fighting in the pits and uses alcohol to cope with her pain.
