The 2032 season begins with one of the biggest rule changes in motorsport history. The cars are now 15 cm thinner and 20 cm shorter, and much lighter, with a minimum weight of 700 kg. Naturally aspirated V8 engines return, powered by sustainable fuels. Aerodynamic downforce is improved so much that grip is almost as good as in the "Ground Effect" era. DRS and the active aerodynamics introduced in 2026 are eliminated, but unlike in 2022 or 2026, these are so optimized that there is almost no spray, making driving at high speeds easier. For decades, there hadn't been a set of regulations that truly motivated fans or even the drivers. There were some standardizations of parts to reduce costs, and refueling had to return due to the high fuel consumption of the V8 engines.
