"The Blue Puppy" is a 1976 animated musical based on the fairy tale "The Puppy Whom No One Befriended" by Hungarian writer Gyula Urban. Plot: A blue puppy is rejected by everyone; no one wants to play with him or be his friend. During a pirate attack on the Island of Dogs, the puppy becomes a prisoner on a ship, and a kind sailor comes to his rescue. Unkind characters—the Black Cat and the Evil Pirate—take advantage of this, kidnapping the blue puppy and sailing away on their ship. A blue puppy of an unusual color.
