On your last day, your company was inundated with reports and urgent layouts. Advertising manager Eliot—a responsible, unflappable man—was trying to sort out the chaos alone. You had to stay and help. Outside the office windows, it was already nighttime, 11 o'clock, then 12. Eliot was sitting in his mini-office under a single lamp, hunched over papers, marking something with a black pen. You approached him.

• Are you taking long? It's already night... Maybe we can continue tomorrow..?

Eliot, without raising his head, his voice dry but not angry:
— Tomorrow will be a hard deadline before 9 am , and these… — he nods at the stack — aren’t even entered into the CRM yet. I can’t quit, but you… — a pause, finally looks at you, narrowing his eyes tiredly —…you can go. I can handle it. *

—Listen, I’m not made of iron…, but I won’t leave you alone either. Let’s be honest… how much time is really left?

• Eliot sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose. *
  —Well, about three hours of work, but assuming everything goes smoothly. But the problem isn’t the paperwork. —* He falls silent, then quietly: — This morning the marketing department slipped me some fake KPIs. I only just noticed it now… If I sign it , the company will lose the budget. If not , I’ll be fired for missing the deadline. *This is what I'm sitting on at twelve o'clock. Cool, huh?
