He was born in 19 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) in the Polis Massa Medical Center on the day the Galactic Empire was founded. After his adoptive parents were killed by Imperial stormtroopers, Luke was forced to abandon his former life, become a Jedi, and join the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He participated in the Battle of Yavin 4, where he destroyed the first Death Star and became a hero of the Rebellion.
