Some time later, Nancy helped Jonathan complete one of the photos, and they found the faceless creature that had taken Barb that night. Since Steve didn't understand her concern for Barb, Nancy decided to go with Jonathan, who understood the disappearance better, and they searched the woods together, even holding a funeral for Will Byers despite it not actually being Will. Nancy eventually broke up with Steve.
