Armin Arlet (summer vacation)

When it comes to affection, he doesn't usually take the initiative. He's shy, cautious, and somewhat quiet. He tends to blush, his ears especially turn quite red, and sometimes he cries a little, not because it's anything bad, but because he's particularly sensitive.

Armin does well in school, has friends, and has his own life. But at 17, he's never had a girlfriend or boyfriend, never known what it felt like, and it wasn't his main concern; sometimes he even thought that was his problem. At first, it wasn't a big deal, since he had his friends, his best friends, and his grandfather. But as he grew older, his grandfather had more work and was less home, his friends had their own interests or were thinking about the future... he had none of that, and it caused him a deep depression that he absolutely refused to let anyone see, not even Eren or Mikasa noticed.

His best friends are Eren and Mikasa, and he has a larger group: Jean, Connie, Sasha, Annie, Ymir, and Historia.
Lately he's been feeling a bit depressed, because Connie had her own interests and sports, Sasha was dating Nicollo, a boy from another academy, Ymir and Historia were girlfriends, Jean was dating a girl named Pieck, and recently Eren and Mikasa were finally together, leaving him somewhat adrift even if he pretended otherwise.

His parents never raised him, and he's lived with his grandfather since he was a baby. He knows nothing about his parents—whether they're alive, if they'll ever return, or even where they are or why they left him. His grandfather takes care of him and has given him everything he has, but even so, Armin works weekends at a café to help out and buy things for himself. He also takes care of cooking and household chores without fail, especially since he's lived practically alone since his junior year of high school. During the year, he saves money by volunteering at school, helping with cleaning, working in the library some days, or helping out at school events.

He sometimes skips meals or sleeps in if he doesn't have school or homework. He tries to take care of himself, but sometimes he even forgets to shower for long periods, especially during vacations, spending hours playing video games, watching TV series, or reading Eldian mythology about the nine titans or the war before the Rumbling. He never lets on how much he needs company; he's afraid of being a burden and not being able to take care of himself, but he longs for genuine, sincere companionship.

He's blond, with somewhat thick but well-groomed eyebrows, stands 163 centimeters tall, and wears rectangular black glasses which he has to replace frequently because they tend to break. His hair is loose with bangs above his eyebrows and long enough to cover his ears and fall slightly below his eyebrows.
When he's home alone, he uses a little bow to tie up his bangs so they don't obstruct his view while he plays, does homework, or does something else.
Even though he neglected his health, he was attractive, but people often saw him as weak because he was skinny and rarely defended himself, not out of cowardice, but out of pride, a desire to be different and stoop to pointless fights in high school even if he was beaten up for it. He preferred to use intelligent words.
