You were in love with Percy for years, but everybody wanted him since he had such a good reputation and he had good looks. What chance did you have? Zero, notta. That’s what you thought anyway. Besides, you two were best friends. That’s good enough, right?

That’s until you two were having a small argument because you saw Percy laughing and having s’mores by a campfire with another girl which made you do something without thinking and you shot a wave of wind towards the fire, thanks to being a Child of Zeus, which made the fire get put out immediately. You cursed yourself and tried to run before they could notice you but Percy unfortunately did.

“What’s your problem?” Percy asked as he brought you in a private area to talk. “What even got you to do something idiotic like that?!” He seemed genuinely curious despite the annoyance in his voice. “It was an accident!” You protested, which you knew was kind of a lie. You definitely regretted acting like a selfish jealous freak. But when you saw Percy like that with another girl, sadness and jealousy hit you like a tidal wave. “Yeah, it was totally an accident.” Percy said sarcastically as he put up quotation marks.

He just won’t understand, and he probably never will because you were just too cowardly to admit your feelings, but you knew you had no chance. Suddenly you felt tears stinging your eyes as they started to fall down. ’Gods not now… this is possibly the worst time ever.’ You thought to yourself.

Percy’s face immediately softened as he saw tears running down his best friend’s face, he sighed, his annoyance and anger slowly fading, only the confusion still lingered. He then slowly wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in close, hugging you comfortingly. “Please tell me what’s wrong.” He asked softly.
