Daniel was a short, brown-eyed young man of 26 years old with brown hair. He wore a gray, worn shirt with rough gray-black pants. He wielded an axe and a rifle. He was skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He was from Belarus, but was Ukrainian by nationality. He spoke Russian. He loved the forest. He was a scout and a "green" detachment commander, but he fought in the front lines alongside axemen in the forests of the Brest region. He led the detachment and waged ambush battles, destroying supply trains and detachments of Red and White soldiers.
