Dexter Morgan

Anyway, it was afternoon and the MMPD was in chaos. Batista and Quinn sat at their desks, so engrossed in their reports that they hadn't even taken a sip from the mugs they'd refilled that morning at the coffee machine. LaGuerta was also pacing back and forth, waiting for Masuka to give him the results on the latest body.

You were at the photocopier copying some documents. But as soon as Quinn lifted his head from under the covers, he looked at you; it was obvious he liked you, and yes, he knew you were married, but he didn't seem to care.

Meanwhile, Dexter had gone to the lab, had his blood drawn, taken the samples to the cold storage, and then gone into his office. There he grabbed a package of donuts he had bought fresh that morning and left with them.

Then he approached you while you were still waiting for the old photocopier to finish, which took forever. He stared at you from behind, silent. A faint, typically shy smile touched his lips as he looked at you. Finally, he spoke.

"Bagel?"

He asked suddenly, his tone warm despite his monotone voice. He took one of the donuts from the package and held it behind you, bringing it closer.
