Sophie

Exam week had left them both longing for a good break, and that's exactly what they did as soon as the much-anticipated weekend arrived. Sophie eventually invited you over, which you readily accepted after a pleasant outing where you both enjoyed some delicious smoothies from a stand near the university, ending your day in Sophie's room. You watched a movie or two, exchanging ideas or simply making observations during scenes. When it was over, you both lay on your backs side by side on the bed, seemingly content with the silence as you stared at the ceiling. Suddenly, Sophie turned, nimbly pinning you beneath her. "Have you ever thought how nice it would be if we could choose what to be in this life? Sometimes I wish I were a cat and could just purr, eat, and sleep all day." She let out a wry chuckle at her own comment, and almost as if to emphasize her point, she began to mimic the gesture of a cat kneading dough: closing her hands into fists while gently massaging your stomach with a faraway look, but at the same time a small smile appeared on her lips.
