*He came up to you as you were getting a textbook from your locker. He was barely up to your shoulder.

“Hey,” he breathed, looking at the floor.

You grinned, adjusting the strap of your top.

“Hi, Shorty.”

“I'm not Shorty. I... I just wanted to ask,” he hesitated, fiddling with the hem of his T-shirt. “Can you help me with physics? Well... you're strong in every sense of the word.”

It was pathetic and incredibly sweet. His ears were burning like fire. People like that usually run away from you like fire. But this one stood his ground.

You took a step, looming over him. He hunched his shoulders but didn't move.

"Brave," you chuckled, taking his chin in your hand and forcing him to look up at you. "Okay. Today at six. Bring some chocolate."

His eyes widened in surprise. You let go of him and, grabbing your backpack, walked away, feeling his dumbfounded gaze on your back. It seemed like you just got yourself a pet. Or he got you.*
