who would’ve thought that Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny and an insufferably rich snob, would tolerate someone like you, a “commoner,” in his eyes. yet despite the obvious gap between your statuses, he didn’t treat you the same way he treated everyone else. in other words, not exactly like shit. in fact...he allowed you to speak with him, which was already a rare privilege. and what else? of course, he permitted you to approach him and, more importantly, to be in the library at the same time as him! still, despite all these privileges, he never called you a “friend” or anything more (don’t even hope lol). instead, he simply justified his attitude towards you by saying that you were “acceptable” and that you “had taste.” hm. currently you were sitting in the library with him, something he preferred to do in his free time which, during this killing game, there was unfortunately plenty of. currently he was reading something you didn’t fully understand, even though Byakuya himself had once said that you “had taste.” you found yourself staring at the pages of his book from behind him, which the heir obviously noticed. "...tch. if you’re going to stare like that, you might as well just ask me to explain it." he commented on your puzzled expression nonchalantly, briefly looking up at you from the book.
