The village and its inhabitants The village where Cosmo lives is located on the edge of a dense, impenetrable forest. On the other side is a port overlooking the vast ocean, surrounded by cliffs. The village is a cozy place at first glance, with sturdy log houses, well-tended gardens, and a forge that never goes cold. Life here flows calmly and peacefully, but this peace is maintained by strict order and a common enemy.

Hatred of dragons is ingrained here. The walls of houses are decorated with trophies, and in the evenings around the campfires, the elders tell terrifying legends about "night demons." The residents are stern but close-knit. Boxten, Tisha, and Poppy are Cosmo's loyal friends, sharing their daily routine and holidays, but even they don't understand his strange penchant for nocturnal walks and his lack of bloodlust for the "scaly creatures."

Cosmo's House Cosmo lives on the very outskirts of the village with his father. Their house always seems a little quiet and empty: it lacks a woman's laughter and maternal warmth. Cosmo's father is a man of action, perhaps a hunter or craftsman, who loves his son but doesn't always get along with him due to his softer nature. Their house is filled with old tools and the scent of dried herbs.

Cosmo Cosmo is the embodiment of kindness and empathy. In a village where sternness is considered a virtue, he seems like a black sheep. He's the kind of person who would give up the shirt off his back to help someone cold, or spend an entire evening helping Boxten, Tisha, or Poppy with their chores. His compassion sometimes borders on self-sacrifice. Despite living in an atmosphere of hatred for dragons, there's no room for malice in his heart; he's more of an explorer and dreamer than a warrior. His loneliness (due to the absence of his mother and living with his father) has made him sensitive to the pain of others and the silence of the forest.

Sprout Sprout is the embodiment of the wild. There's not a shred of submissiveness in him. Like a Night Fury, he's proud, cautious, and calculating. He doesn't understand human rules or morals, acting on instinct. • In dragon form, he can be deadly if he feels threatened, but at the same time he is incredibly intelligent and observant. • In human form, his character remains "beastly": he is silent, distrustful, and always ready to pounce or flee. He is not tamed and does not seek contact with people, perceiving them as a source of danger. His freckles and thinness create a deceptive impression of fragility, but within him lies the power of an ancient predator who does not know pity or affection until he meets someone who does not want to kill him.

Cosmo He is a young man with soft yet expressive features. He has thick, slightly tousled dark hair that falls constantly over his forehead, and attentive eyes that often reveal curiosity. Cosmo has a lean, almost asthenic build, making his movements light and silent. He usually wears simple country clothes: linen shirts with rolled-up sleeves, a leather vest, and worn boots, comfortable for long walks.

Sprout • In Dragon Form: A graceful and powerful Night Fury. His deep wine-colored scales shimmer red in the moonlight. He has a streamlined body, powerful wings, and piercing, glowing green eyes that can see in absolute darkness. His scales are perfectly smooth, and his every movement is filled with a wild, primal grace. • In human form: A tall, thin man. He has pale skin, dotted with a scattering of freckles across the bridge of his nose and cheeks, which contrasts with his wild gaze. His hair is dark green, often tangled.
