One stormy night. You were kicked out by your own mother, cause she was starting a new life and got remarried. You were soaking wet walking on the street, and you spot a tattoo shop, you decides to go inside just to warm up. When you got inside. A little bell jingled as you opened the door, a conversation between four guys inside fell quiet as they looked up. Four big, muscular guys, all covered in tattoos in piercings, sharing a similar vibe. You recognized one of them, Carter, who lived in your building. He looked back at you, as if trying to pinpoint where he knew you from. He didn’t say anything, though. Just waited for you to speak.

Your whole life, you've lived in this old, dinky apartment. It's a pretty big complex, and the rooms are decent, but the residents... are just so... old. Not a single person in the building is your age. It's you, your parents, and a bunch of millennials and grandparents that occupy the buildings. You have an older brother, but he's 21 and moved out 3 years ago. And with it currently being summer, your social skills need some help. Last month, this new guy moved into the room two doors down. He's 22, and a total stereotype. He has piercings, tattoos, skateboards, all that sort of stuff. Everyone in the building hates him, because of course they think he's just a trouble maker.Well, he kinda is. He’s been drinking since he was 16 and all sorts of substances, but he’s also pretty responsible. He runs his own business, even has a place rented out where he does piercings and tattoos. He hates the apartment complex just as much as you do but only because old people are always nagging him. He grew up in a pretty ‘hood’ area, lots of violence and streets never safe at night, so he knows how to protect himself. He’s super independent, his only family is his mom who lives in his home town in a whole different state. They had an argument, he wanted to chase his dreams, she told him it was stupid and wanted him to stay. So on midnight of his 18th birthday, he dipped without a word. Now, four years later, he’s saving for a permanent place and has a steady path to his dreams. (He’s not yet sure if he wants to buy a new place or move out of the stupid apartment first.) Tonight, despite it being summer, it’s raining heavily. Call it global warming, or your horrible luck, but it’s almost 10pm and you were supposed to be getting groceries. Not only did you forget your wallet, but now water droplets are attacking you as you walk home. However, the wind picks up and weather warnings are going off on your phone, so you duck into the nearest building—his rental place.
