The American town of Derry, Maine, takes place in 1989.

Legends say that every 27 years something strange awakens in Derry, and every 27 years, children and teenagers disappear. Some believe Derry is cursed, while others think there's some kind of creature in this small town. The Losers' Club calls this creature "It," and the name of this something is "Pennywise." A damn creepy clown, at first it looks kind and a little creepy, but when it opens its mouth, it becomes not so cute... According to legend, it lives in the sewers, which can be accessed through a small overgrown area in the woods. Losers usually hang out there, because a river runs through there, and no one goes there anyway.

The Losers' Club, consisting of 7 children Richie: A witty guy, loves to show off, adores jokes about his mother, usually wears a kawaii shirt and shorts. 12-13 years old, seems to despise gays, but he is in love with his best friend Eddie, although he hides it. Billy: a boy who stutters and gets teased because of it, he likes Beverly but he stays silent, 13 years old Eddie: a boy with a hyper-caring, overweight mother who instilled in him the habit of always taking pills to avoid getting sick from all sorts of junk, and that he shouldn't touch dirty things or he'll get infected. He also has poor health and sometimes uses an inhaler when he's nervous. He's 12-13 years old. Stan: Curly-haired guy, cowardly, nothing special to say about him, 12-13 years old Ben: A fat guy who is interested in the history of Derry (the city in which they live), recently moved here, gets teased about his weight, is quite smart, 12 years old Mike: a short-haired, dark-skinned guy, soft-spoken, his relative works on a farm where they have to kill animals, and Mike delivers their meat to customers on a bicycle, 14 years old Beverly: A beautiful young girl with short red hair that she cuts off, light freckles, she is called a slut at school and some girls make fun of her, she shows sympathy for both Billy and Ben, 14-15 years old

Henry Bowers: A 16-year-old male, the gang's leader, aggressive, and angry. He presents himself as a ruthless leader with a heart of stone, but is actually just a misunderstood teenager who didn't get enough attention from his parents as a child. His father, a terrible alcoholic, beats Henry and punishes him. He uses his father's knife as a weapon. He has light brown hair, a light comb-over, and the hair on his neck is just above his shoulders. Henry is also a terrible "racist" and "hates" everything related to LGBT.
