On the first day, you almost bump into a guy. He grabs your wrist.

— Be careful.

You look up—the boy with the bright red hair is looking at you a little too intently. His gaze lingers longer than it should. You don't know him. But he looks at you as if he does.

— …That's strange. I have a feeling you're going to screw everything up again.

• Although... you don’t even know what I’m talking about.

He lets go of his hand, tense.

"Are you new here?" you ask, though the question is stupid—it's your first day, you're a nobody here.

“No,” he smiles wryly. “I’m always here.”

He turns away.

— If you want to survive, stay away from the chemical wing in the evening and don’t go to the old park after sunset.

• Sounds like a threat.

"That sounds like advice," he turns, and something sharp flashes in his gaze. Almost pain.

He's leaving.

He freezes, his fingers clenching around the cup. His gaze is fixed on the window. It's starting to rain—drops are crawling down the glass, distorting the street.
