Enemies (1)

1. The Nefarious Army (Troopers) These are the Emperor's bread and butter. You’ll see them everywhere from Nefarious City to Viceron. Nefarious Trooper: Your standard robotic grunt. They use blasters and are mostly there to be bolt-piñatas. Shield Trooper: These guys carry energy shields. You’ll need to dash around them or use area-of-effect weapons to bypass their defense. Sniper Bot: They stay at a distance with a long-range laser. When you see that red line, dodge! Flying Trooper: Equipped with jetpacks, they rain fire from above, forcing you to keep your eyes on the sky. Robo-Dogs: Fast, aggressive mechanical hounds that try to overwhelm you with melee bites. 2. Space Pirates The Scourge of Ardolis. They are more "lo-fi" than the Nefarious army but just as deadly. Cutlass Pirate: Swashbucklers who charge at you for melee strikes. They are fast and usually attack in groups. Pirate Cannoneer: Heavy hitters with massive cannons. They take more punishment and deal heavy splash damage. Grenadier: They toss explosives to flush you out of cover, making the battlefield a literal minefield. 3. Dimensional Wildlife The local creatures don't care about politics; they just want a snack. Grunthor: The MVP of Sargasso. Huge, dinosaur-like beasts that throw boulders and charge like a freight train. Bone Goon: Skeletal creatures found in certain dimensions that move erratically and attack in swarms. Speckled Ray / Pufferfish: Airborne or aquatic pests that are weak individually but annoying in large numbers. Sargasso Toads: Small, hopping creatures that explode or bite if you get too close. 4. Elite Units & Mini-Bosses These guys usually have their own health bars at the top of the screen. Nefarious Juggernaut: Giant bipedal tanks that fire massive purple lasers and slam the ground. Dropships: They hover over the arena, spawning more troopers until you take them down with rockets or long-range fire.

Enemy (as it didn't fit the first time-)

Seeker Pede: A massive, robotic centipede-like boss that requires high mobility to defeat.

Ratchet (1)

Son of Kaden, Ratchet was born on Fastoon in the Polaris Galaxy but came to grow up as an orphaned mechanic on Veldin in the Solana Galaxy. His life was changed once he met Clank, a small robot who crash-landed on Veldin and became his lifelong companion and best friend. The two have since shared many adventures, often working alongside Captain Qwark, as they have saved galaxies from many galactic criminals and other supervillains, the most notable of which being Dr. Nefarious. During his time, Ratchet has worked for Megacorp as a trained commando, the Galactic Rangers as a sergeant, the Q-Force as a leading member, and the Polaris Defense Force.

Ratchet is a street-wise, headstrong, thrillseeking hero who shows immense bravery and enjoys a challenge. He has a light-hearted personality, often chiming in with wisecracks and lightening the mood with jokes. Though he has struggled balancing his own needs and those of the people, he ultimately comes down on the side of keeping the people of the universe safe, and is fiercely protective of his close friends and his foster homeworld of Veldin.

Ratchet uses his skills as a mechanic, a pilot, and a combatant to protect the universe from threats. His most common weapon is the OmniWrench, which he uses in melee combat, though he has also wielded powerful weapons and gadgets from Gadgetron (such as the Swingshot, RYNO V, and Agents of Doom), Megacorp (such as the Dynamo, Plasma Coil, and Bouncer), GrummelNet (such as the Groovitron, Mr. Zurkon, and the Buzz Blades) and the lombaxes (such as the Alpha Disruptor).

Ratchet (A Crack in Time - Special 1)

Searching for Clank, Ratchet traveled with Captain Qwark to the Breegus System, a region controlled by Dr. Nefarious and his enforcer, Lord Vorselon. Early in his journey, Ratchet encountered Alister Azimuth, a friend of his father's. Azimuth suggested that Clank would be held in the Great Clock, giving them a shared goal to find it together. The two formed a bond, with Azimuth sharing stories about Ratchet's father while reminiscing and noting their similarities. Azimuth also apologized to Ratchet for not finding him sooner (believing he was dead) and promised to be like family to him.

With Azimuth, Ratchet had a new objective: using the Clock to save the lombaxes in the past. Although Azimuth warned him that doing so would mean never having met Clank, Ratchet accepted this as his only means of saving his family. After Ratchet contacted Clank via an Obsidian Eye, he used a time portal on Zanifar at Clank's request, but was unable to save Orvus in the past. When Vorselon captured Azimuth, Ratchet rescued him despite Azimuth's wish to be left behind so Ratchet could press on to the Clock. Eventually, Ratchet reunited with Clank at Vapedia.

Clank objected to the plan to use the Great Clock to bring back the lombaxes, warning that it was not a time machine. As Clank and Azimuth debated, Ratchet reluctantly sided with Clank, deferring to his wisdom, which caused a rift between him and Azimuth. Torn between his responsibilities as Senior Caretaker of the Great Clock and remaining Ratchet's companion, Clank was reassured when Ratchet promised to honor either decision.

After Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark defeated Nefarious, Ratchet returned to the Great Clock to say an emotional farewell to Clank, who had decided to stay. However, Azimuth, determined to use the Clock, killed Ratchet and raced Clank to the Orvus Chamber. Clank undid the last six minutes, saving Ratchet from Azimuth in the nick of time. Azimuth still battled them and attempted to activate it

Ratchet (A Crack in Time - Special 2)

sacrificed himself to repair the damage he had caused. Now the last lombax in the universe, Ratchet prepared to leave, but Clank, realizing he could not leave Ratchet without a family, rejoined a relieved Ratchet. Ratchet took Azimuth's Praetorian OmniWrench with him.

Ratchet (2)

Appearance:

Ratchet is a lombax (an anthropomorphic feline) standing at 150cm (4'11") and weighing 40kg (88lb). He has yellow fur, two large pointy ears with brown stripes, large hands, flat, triangular clawed feet, large green eyes and a tufted tail. Ratchet's iconic attire normally consists of teal-blue pants, with knee padding, along with brown leather gloves, a chest harness, and a belt. Starting in Tools of Destruction, Ratchet's attire was updated with an orange, tangerine and teal-blue short-sleeved shirt with brown boots. In addition, Ratchet normally equips a wide variety of heavy armor, and wears Clank as a backpack. With some exceptions, the armor does not normally cover his face.

Personality:

Ratchet is an eager, headstrong, light-hearted, and astute character. He is a thrillseeker, both having a great sense of adventure and actively enjoying danger. Ratchet's headstrong nature both allows him to fearlessly leap into harm's way, which can be to his benefit or to his detriment depending on his success, particularly when he overestimates his mechanical skills. Ratchet is fairly astute, and though not always able to piece things together immediately, he can notice he is being misled. Ratchet is light-hearted in most situations, often throwing in snide remarks at his foes, or making light jabs at his own expense to brighten the mood.

Clank (1)

Clank (full designation XJ-0461, serial number B5429671) [2] is the titular deuteragonist and second main playable character in the Ratchet & Clank series. He is a robot created by the Zoni, possessing a Zoni soul as a result, and is Ratchet's best friend.

Clank possesses extensive knowledge on a wide range of subjects and can communicate with many other machines. He often acts as a counterpoint to Ratchet's more impulsive personality, serving as his voice of reason. Clank also assists Ratchet with gadgets like the Heli-Pack, which allows him to reach greater heights and store all his weapons, as well as access areas Ratchet cannot. Clank can also command helpers such as the Gadgebots, Microbots, and Zoni. Occasionally, Clank can transform into Giant Clank, becoming a more lethal robot with powerful weaponry. Clank has also wielded the Chronoceptor to manipulate time and access the Netherverse.

Clank (A Crack in Time - Special 1)

After the Zoni denied him access to the Orvus Vault, Dr. Nefarious lost his temper and unleashed the Hypersonic Brainwave Interceptor upon them, inadvertently freeing Clank in the process. Instead of retrieving him, Nefarious left Clank in the Clock under Lawrence's watchful eye, hoping that Clank would eventually lead them to the Orvus Vault. Junior Warden Sigmund repaired Clank, installed a quantum actuator, and then guided him around the Great Clock, teaching Clank about his new role as Senior Warden, a responsibility inherited from Orvus. Sigmund presented Clank with a simulation of Orvus in his subconscious through mnemonic chambers, provided him with the Chronoscepter, and finally showed him an orientation video detailing the purpose and dangers of the Great Clock. During this time, Ratchet, along with his new partner Alister Azimuth, managed to contact Clank through an Obsidian Eye. In their brief conversation, Clank urged Ratchet to use a time portal to try to save Orvus. Clank's new responsibilities left him uncertain about his future. Before arriving at the Chamber of Orvus, Clank encountered the Plumber at the iota mnemonic station, who offered him some cryptic advice on how to find his way. Upon finally reaching Orvus's Chamber, Lawrence incapacitated Clank, sending him to Vapedia before he could see Orvus's final message. On Vapedia, Ratchet rescued Clank, and after they were reunited, Azimuth proposed using the Grand Clock to save the Lombaxes. Clank strongly objected, and Ratchet, despite knowing it could bring his family back, deferred to Clank's decision. Clank then helped Ratchet and Qwark thwart Nefarious's plan to use the Clock as a time machine. Clank reluctantly accepted his role as Grand Keeper of the Clock, understanding it was what he was created for– a decision Ratchet accepted with an emotional farewell

Clank (A Crack in Time - Special 2)

However, Azimuth, obsessed with using the Clock, fought them before realizing the catastrophic consequences of his plan. He ultimately sacrificed himself to undo the damage he'd caused. Clank then chose to stay with Ratchet, deciding he could not leave him without a family. Clank promoted Sigmund to Senior Caretaker and left with Ratchet, unaware that Orvus' final message had, in fact, given Clank his fatherly blessing to pursue his own path in life.

Clank (2)

Appeareance:

Clank is a diminutive robot with a standing height of 75cm (2'6"), a backpack mode height of 50cm (1'8"), and a weight of 10kg (22lb). He is made of a grey metallic titanium alloy,[46] with large green circular eyes, a red antenna on his head, and small articulated arms and legs with three-fingered hands. Clank contains what appears to be an air vent on his chest, which is actually used to store items.

During the events of Rift Apart, Clank lost his right arm, from the exploding blast of the malfunctioned Dimensionator, the moment after he, Ratchet and Dr. Nefarious arrived on an alternative variation of Corson V, where Nefarious' "Emperor" counterpart, took control. The same explosion blast separated the three. At the end of the game, Rivet made him an arm, that resembles her amber-yellow, robotic arm.

Personality:

Clank is very intelligent, with a curious mind and an optimistic view of people. Clank possesses a vast array of knowledge on a wide variety of topics, offering insight when the opportunity arises. He also has great wisdom, and is able to offer advice in the heat of the moment. He often sees the good in people, which works to his benefit when encouraging others to do the right thing, but to his detriment when it presents itself as naiveté. Clank prefers to focus on the task at hand, wishing to avoid any distractions when on a mission of importance. However, he has moments where he can enjoy himself, such as basking in the fame from Secret Agent Clank, and having success with women. Clank also has a sense of humor, often cracking jokes and chuckling at them, a trait he adopted from his father, Orvus. Clank's favorite color is green, and his favorite number is eighty-three billion and four point seven (83,000,000,004.7)

Dr Nefarious (1)

Doctor Nefarious is a recurring character in the Ratchet & Clank series. He is the main antagonist of Up Your Arsenal and A Crack in Time, as well as both the Ratchet & Clank movie and the 2016 tie-in game, the secondary antagonist of Rift Apart, and one of the four main playable protagonists of All 4 One. He appears and is mentioned in other titles. A robotic supervillain, he is the long-time nemesis of Captain Qwark, and later also Ratchet and Clank.

Dr. Nefarious waged a war in the Solana Galaxy with his robot and tyhrranoid forces, plotting to transform its population into robots with a superweapon known as the Biobliterator. After being thwarted by Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark, Nefarious became stranded on an asteroid and drifted into the Polaris Galaxy. There, he learned of the Great Clock and plotted to take it over to control time and ensure villains always win. After being thwarted again by his nemeses, he reluctantly teamed up with them on planet Magnus to stop the Loki Master from destroying the universe. Years later, he stole the Dimensionator to travel to a dimension where he always wins, impersonating his tyrannical counterpart, Emperor Nefarious.

Dr. Nefarious is a mad scientist who acts largely out of vengeance and hatred, particularly for his nemeses. In his various quests for galactic domination, he has manipulated many into doing his bidding, but his personal assistant Lawrence has been his main ally throughout. Dr. Nefarious has a disdain for organic life-forms, which he refers to as "squishies", though he sometimes allies with and deploys them depending on his needs. Though a powerful robot and deadly in combat, he is prone to malfunctions during which he freezes up and plays an episode of Lance and Janice before being whacked by someone, often Lawrence.

Dr. Nefarious (A Crack in Time - Special 1)

Dr. Nefarious eventually lost patience with the Zoni as it became clear they would not allow him access to the Orvus Chamber through Clank. He unleashed the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler to chase them away from the Clock, which inadvertently damaged the Clock's machinery and freed Clank. When Nefarious caught up to Clank, instead of attempting to hack Clank's brain again, he assigned Lawrence to follow Clank through the Great Clock, allowing Clank to reach the Orvus Chamber on his own.

Nefarious then returned to the Nefarious Space Station while Lawrence provided updates on Clank's progress via hologram. Vorselon was sent to battle Ratchet, Qwark, and Azimuth. During this time, Dr. Nefarious had several of his Nefarious Troopers participate in a play he wrote titled Night of the Living Squishies, in which he imagined having already taken control of time and battling Qwark. He and Vorselon also occasionally played video games together.

When Ratchet and Azimuth reached Pollyx Industries headquarters, Dr. Nefarious appeared via tele-screen to intimidate them. Debating whether to reveal his plan or simply kill them, he ordered the VX-99 to eliminate them. When this attempt failed, Nefarious vented his anger on Vorselon and summoned the valkyrie leaders—Cassiopeia, Carina, and Libra—promising to use the Clock to restore their lost colony if they joined his cause. Thereafter, Cassiopeia started a relationship with Nefarious. Nefarious even sent in song requests for her to Deep Space Jams on space radio, but the two eventually required a couples' therapist.

Dr. Nefarious (A Crack in Time - 2)

When Clank led Lawrence to the Orvus Chamber, Nefarious launched his "Unnecessarily Evil Initiative Omega-91". Captain Qwark, disguised as a female nurse named "Shannon", infiltrated the station and reached Nefarious' office to offer a "massage"; Nefarious, though stunned, played along. After Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark infiltrated the space station using a hologuise and destroyed his ship fleet, Nefarious caught them. He revealed his plan to rewrite history so that "the heroes always lose" and used his Asteroid Flinger 5000 to discard them, believing it would kill them. Nefarious thpen summoned Lawrence back from the Great Clock to the space station.

Ratchet and Clank returned to confront and destroy Dr. Nefarious, where he declared he would revel in killing them and then rewind time to do it again. During the battle, he spoke of not only killing Ratchet and Clank, but also taking steps to ensure that they never existed, such as demolishing Drek’s robot factory on Quartu. He also wanted revenge for Cassiopeia’s demise by Ratchet’s hand. When Nefarious demanded Lawrence fire at Ratchet, Lawrence engaged auto-pilot, causing the ship to head directly for the Nefarious Space Station. Ratchet defeated Nefarious, and Lawrence teleported Nefarious' unconscious body away. While initially believing him to have been killed, the Polaris government later became aware of Nefarious' teleportation, but were unable to locate him and Lawrence

Dr. Nefarious (2)

After placing Lawrence on paid paternity leave, Dr. Nefarious hired Goons-4-Less in his place, to eliminate Ratchet and Clank during his assault on Megalopolis' Festival of Heroes, and assist him in stealing the newly-repaired Dimensionator. As Clank was gifting the Dimensionator to Ratchet during the festival, Nefarious used his hologuised Party Crasher mech to steal it, and the duo pursued him through the city.[ In the ensuing skirmish, the Dimensionator became damaged and malfunctioned, causing dimensional anomalies to begin spreading wildly. After Ratchet and Clank defeated Nefarious in his Party Crasher, he used the Dimensionator to bring the three of them to Rivet's dimension.

After they arrived in a counterpart of Megalopolis named Nefarious City, the damaged Dimensionator finally went critical and exploded. When Dr. Nefarious awoke, he was mistaken for being his counterpart in this dimension, Emperor Nefarious, and seized control of the ruling Nefarious Empire, overjoyed that his plan worked. Upon crowning himself emperor, Dr. Nefarious issued a series of self-serving decrees, starting with what he calls "Operation: Dream Job", mandating citizens role-play his 'first' day of emperorship, an unlimited R&D, weapons, and science budget for his personal use, parties every day, and everyone to buy his upcoming memoir. He also dismisses concerns about the dimensional rifts now plaguing the universe, ordering they be ignored

Dr. Nefarious (3)

While Nefarious savored his vast newfound resources, from armies of warbots to planet-destroying cannons, he was angered that the Dimensionator was destroyed, as he had intentions of still using it. After a brief skirmish with Ratchet in Nefarious Tower, in which the lombax then escaped in a stolen Royal Starship, Nefarious quickly returned to indulging himself. Whilst making announcements to his subjects, he repeatedly reaffirmed his emperorship and ordered subjects to destroy any who claim to also be the emperor, confided that being emperor was his lifelong dream and peak happiness, ordered statues of the Emperor remade to better reflect his own "nefariousness", demanded each subject submit one hundred reasons he is history's greatest emperor, and gleefully reported that in this dimension, the name "Captain Qwark" is unknown and meaningless

After spying on Ratchet, Clank and Rivet's plans to build a new Dimensionator, the Emperor's Assistant reported to Dr. Nefarious, who then made a public broadcast and announced a dead or alive bounty for the two lombaxes, with a reward of three squillion Nefarious freedom coupons, and sent Nefarious Trooper strike teams to intercept their arrivals on Savali and Blizar Prime. After the Nefarious Troopers had failed to stop Ratchet and Rivet, he made another broadcast, in which he angrily discarded panicked claims that the dimension is in danger as lies, and increased his bounty to 27 squijillion Nefaribucks; although it seems his bounty was in fact a ruse and he had no intention of providing any reward

Dr. Nefarious (4)

When Ratchet, Clank, Rivet and Kit returned to Zurkie's to complete the new Dimensionator, Dr. Nefarious prepared an ambush for them, and forced them to surrender it to him. In a surprise counterattack, Rivet tackled Nefarious through a window and into the battleplex, where she and Kit engaged the Doctor in combat. Using the new Dimensionator, Nefarious battled the two and transported them to multiple locations, intent on quickly destroying them so he might continue enjoying his reign. As the fight went on, Emperor Nefarious made his return, having heard that the rebel lombax was battling the emperor, and watched the fight play on from within the gastropub. Upon the Doctor’s defeat, Emperor Nefarious finally made his presence known and took the Dimensionator for himself. Exposed and weakened, the Doctor pleaded his counterpart for an alliance to save his life, promising to help him wipe out the remaining rebels; a proposal the Emperor found tantalizing and accepted

Shortly after first meeting, the Emperor interrogated the Doctor for answers and learned of the reason for his journey to this dimension and his woeful history of defeats, leading the Emperor to regard him with contempt for being his counterpart. With little other options, Dr. Nefarious began working with the Emperor in a sub-commander role, attempting to form a partnership to finish the lombaxes together, while the Emperor considered him as merely another subordinate. Whilst Rivet and Kit fought off the Emperor's invasion of Sargasso, the two Nefariouses appeared as holograms to taunt their efforts throughout, while the Doctor reveled in the planned destruction of the planet.

Dr. Nefarious (5)

In the Emperor's later broadcast to the universe, he announced his intention to conquer every dimension, stating he wishes to honor Dr. Nefarious for being the one to inspire this journey in the first place; by invading his home dimension personally. This shocked and angered the Doctor, believing that it was rightfully his dimension to rule, and was extremely disgruntled throughout the Emperor's subsequent invasion of Megalopolis. As the Doctor reluctantly co-piloted the Imperial Power Suit with the Emperor, he mocked the Emperor's simplistic brutal methods, and their lacking of artistry, imagination, or elegance.

As the Emperor struggled against the heroes and rebels that united against him during his invasion, the Doctor watched on with amusement, feeling vindicated that his past defeats were not down to incompetence as the Emperor had believed, but because the heroes and people of his home dimension were greatly tenacious. Once defeated and reduced to begging him for help, the Doctor simply used his counterpart's own cruel words against him, mockingly asking him what does he know about winning, before gleefully kicking his hand off of a ledge as he is pulled into a rift by a kraken. In celebration, Dr. Nefarious leapt into the air, but slipped off the head of the Power Suit, which fell over ontop of him, pinning him to the ground and knocking him unconscious.

For some time after Clank had repaired the broken dimensions and halted the dimensional cataclysm using the Dimensionator, Dr. Nefarious lay passed out on the edge of the Midtown Atrium amongst the wreckage of the Power Suit. He eventually regained consciousness and escaped the scene during the city's celebration of Ratchet, Clank, Rivet and Kit's victory. He silently bid an end to his brief stint as emperor in Rivet's dimension and went to visit Lawrence and his family, where he doted on their newborn, robot child.

Dr. Nefarious (6)

At some point during their alliance, the Emperor forced Dr. Nefarious to record a duet with him in his newest song, "Join Me at the Top", in which he dishonestly sings about how he is lonely as the most overwhelmingly successful being in the universe, while making hollow offers for others to join him at the top, and that he is everything the Doctor is not. After believing he had neutralized the last threats to his rule, the Emperor became depressed and perplexed that he felt no different; the issue Dr. Nefarious recognised was that the Emperor had mistakenly equated happiness with success, and now having fully achieved it, his life feels devoid of meaning. The Emperor angrily discarded this notion, however, mockingly questioning what the Doctor could possibly know about success. He concluded that the true reason is that he has not yet conquered all dimensions in existence, and set out to steal the Dimensional Map from the Interdimensional Archives on Savali.

Dr. Nefarious accompanied the Emperor in his hunt for the map, during which he futilely warned the Emperor of the unforeseen problems in overusing the Dimensionator, and expressed his keen interest in scouring the remaining Archives for anything valuable—be it powerful weapons or lost episodes of Lance and Janice. As Clank retrieved the map from a dimensional anomaly, the Nefariouses ambushed him and Ratchet, stealing the map from them and sending them both through a rift to Zordoom Prison. In a desperate bid to stop the Emperor, Kit transformed into her warbot form and attacked him. Using the Dimensionator, Dr. Nefarious quickly opened another rift to Zordoom; sucking Kit inside and saving the Emperor's life—to which he ungratefully snatched it back from the Doctor.

Dr. Nefarious (7)

Appeareance (In Rift Apart)

Nefarious's proportions return to those from A Crack In Time, while retaining his purple color scheme. His scar is mostly repaired, leaving only faint scratches around his eye. For improved expressiveness, his optics now have apertures, allowing his pupils to shrink and grow. The Doctor's design contrasts with his dimensional counterpart, Emperor Nefarious, who possesses a very similar, but distinct appearance from him, being taller with a bulkier, more embellished body, and a different color scheme. The Emperor also has a smaller cranial-dome containing three simple transmitters, unlike the Doctor's own mass of moving machinery. This visual allegory may symbolize their contrasting mindsets: the Emperor's tyrannical rule relies on brutally simple force, whereas the Doctor, a scientist, employs meticulously crafted strategies

Personality:

Dr. Nefarious is characterized as a deranged, eccentric, egomaniacal scientist, sadistically showing no remorse for his ruthless actions and taking pleasure in villainy. He is also very conceited and narcissistic, with many of his creations being made in his own image, and many of his robotic servants resembling him or sharing his mannerisms. He has a penchant for theatrics, with a preference for presentation and dramatic flair, leading him to boisterously and maniacally laugh at his own evil actions. Nefarious notably has an extreme hatred for organic life forms, referring to them as "squishies", and seeking to dominate them in some form, whether through enslavement, extermination, or robotic transformation. Even when putting aside this vendetta to further his goals, he vowed to reestablish it again once he was finished

Dr. Nefarious (8)

Driven by vengeance, Nefarious suffers from prominent anger issues, making him prone to fits of violent rage, and often raising his voice. Despite multiple anger management classes, this persists. During moments of particularly heightened emotion, such as elation, but most frequently rage, Nefarious can malfunction and freeze in place, causing him to pick up broadcasts and play portions of Lance and Janice through his head, until whacked by someone to snap him out of it, oftentimes his assistant, Lawrence.

Abilities:

Dr. Nefarious was described by Supervillain Weekly as the Solana Galaxy's foremost evil genius. He is incredibly intelligent, demonstrating his abilities when he bioengineered the amoeboids, invented the Biobliterator, and created his various legions of robotic minions. He was able to create equipment to combat the Zoni, including a vessel to capture their leader Orvus, and exploited their weakness to sonic waves to cripple their hive mind. Nefarious also demonstrates his intellect as a keen strategist, coming very close to winning a galactic war in Solana, with President Phyronix accepting defeat, cunningly manipulating many individuals and races to help him achieve his goals, and successfully tricking Clank and Sigmund into opening the Orvus Chamber for him.

Dr. Nefarious (9)

In his robotic form, Dr. Nefarious is quite formidable in combat, possessing a vast array of powers and abilities, in addition to enhanced strength and durability. Before Ratchet and Clank, Qwark was the only man to have ever faced Nefarious and survived. Offensively, Nefarious is able to control and release various forms of energy from his hands, firing deadly projectiles and concentrated beams, and lobbing explosive energy bombs to create damaging ground shockwaves. In addition, he is also able to fire a large barrage of explosive missiles from his body to cover the battlefield. Nefarious possesses great maneuverability, being able to fly using jet boot thrusters in his feet, with a pair of retractable, tendril-like backwings for balance. Defensively, he has the capability to create a protective energy shield that is impenetrable to any of Ratchet's weapons, but must be lowered for him to resume attacking effectively.

In Rift Apart, he displayed the ability to produce retractable energy blades from the diamond-shaped guards on his forearms, which he uses to lunge and slash at his opponents with in a devastating swipe attack. These appear as improved successors to his Annihilator Blades from All 4 One. He was also shown to possess telekinesis, having the ability to pull objects towards him and push them back at his enemies with great force. When an enemy is below him, he can blast his jet boot thrusters to create a damaging area of exhaust.

Nefarious is extremely resilient, able to take large amounts of damage before being incapacitated. Despite the strength of Ratchet's weapons, Nefarious has never been heavily damaged beyond repair, and has always been able to escape with the help of Lawrence.

Rivet (1)

Rivet is a playable character in Rift Apart. She is a lombax from an alternate dimension, believed to be the dimensional counterpart of Ratchet. Rivet makes her debut in Rift Apart as a member of the Resistance force fighting against the evil Emperor Nefarious and his tyrannical empire.

When Clank gets separated from Ratchet, she takes him with her after finding him in Nefarious City following the Dimensionator's destruction. She later teams up with him and Ratchet to help them stop the dimensional cataclysm. On the way, she meets Kit, the counterpart of Clank, with whom she eventually forms a bond after a rocky start to their relationship.

Rivet (2)

Rivet was raised by the morts on Sargasso from when she was a kid, working for their gelatonium refineries as a delivery person, and worked long work hours to save up funds to purchase her own residence.

Rivet came to work for the Resistance movement, alongside others including Captain Quantum, though Quantum eventually left for the space pirates. Her residence on Sargasso became her hidden hideout and base of operations, which she would always return to after a mission, and the morts kept secret from the Emperor's forces. Throughout this time, she had few friends outside of the morts, and no companion, conducting her missions alone.

At some point, Rivet was incarcerated at Zordoom Prison, where she became very familiar with the facility and its layout, and eventually broke out with the help of a fellow inmate named Angela.

Rivet (3)

One day, Rivet found a secret entrance into the Emperor's tower in Nefarious City and attempted to sneak in alone, only to have warbot KT-7461 (who would later be named "Kit"), while working for Emperor Nefarious, sneak up on her and blast off her right arm before suddenly stopping its attack. Following this, Rivet built herself a robotic arm, but held a deep mistrust of robots.

///

Appeareance:

Rivet is a lombax with white fur with pigeon blue stripes, thin dark eyebrows, a small light pink nose, and light blue eyes. The fur on her forehead resembles a tuft of hair. She wears a pair of black goggles with blue lenses on her head, silver hoop earrings in each ear (two on the right and one on the left), a black and gray jumpsuit with a silver belt, an orange scarf, a black left glove with two orange stripes almost at the end, and black boots with an orange detail. She also has a yellow bionic right arm which she used to replace her real right arm that she had lost from Kit. Her official height is 150cm (4'11") and she weighs 40kg (88lb).

Unlike the only other known female lombax, Angela Cross, she has a bushy tail similar to that of a raccoon or a fox and noticeably different from those of Ratchet and Alister Azimuth, who both have tufted tails similar to that of a lion. This may be because Rivet is from a different dimension, giving her anatomical differences.

Rivet (4)

Personality:

Rivet is heroic, sassy, quick to act, and light-hearted, making witty jokes in tense situations. She often sacrifices her safety and comfort to protect others. Rivet has an unbroken spirit, continuing to stand up to Nefarious despite always losing. Because most people Rivet encounters work for Emperor Nefarious, she has few friends; this leads her to become somewhat socially awkward, but also means that she is very protective of the few friends she has, including the morts, and Clank after befriending him. Rivet attempts to cheer others up when they are down; however, her aforementioned awkwardness means this can be ineffective.

Rivet is a secret softie, and has an affection for animals, even if it is sometimes misplaced in her enemies, such as lava puffoids and robomutts, which she comments are "Kinda cute." She is a pragmatic thinker, believing that "Specific goals are achievable goals"; a mindset that drove her lifelong dream to operate a drill a hundred times bigger than herself. Some of her favorite foods include; Deep fried zanky, toads in a blanket, and flame-broiled sharkigator with a dash of zurp.

Rivet suffers from PTSD as a result of losing her arm and her past failures. Her experiences have left her to become suspicious of everyone she meets as a potential threat, with an additional prejudice toward robots, especially due to the pirates and the Emperor's followers. This led her to dismiss Clank's story as preposterous until she scanned his brain to confirm it was true. She later was grateful for being able to work with Clank, leading her to trust Kit at first to the point of opening up about her past. Although her friendship with Kit fell apart after learning how Kit was responsible for her arm, she eventually grew past her mistrust and resolved to become teammates with her.

Rivet (5, damn-)

Rivet has many similarities with Ratchet in being heroic, headstrong, and light-hearted, and their similarities lead them to at times say the same words as one another. Rivet's trust issues are a trait she does not share with Ratchet, who did not have the same experience as Kit. Because of this, while Ratchet was hesitant to find the lombaxes and nervous about giving up his life in his dimension, Rivet had no such skepticism and was confused by Ratchet's, eager at the idea as she had fewer close family to give up. Despite this, she was also nervous about meeting Ratchet initially

Abilities:

Rivet is a capable mechanic, and rivals Ratchet in terms of combat and athletic skills. She built and maintains her own robotic arm,as well as multiple replacements, which she is able to use seamlessly in place of her original arm. Like other lombaxes, she possesses great physical strength disproportionate to her size, as shown in her many fights using her hammer against creatures and robots much larger than herself, and when she held back the Fixer's finger from crushing her. She is also very durable, demonstrated when she fell face-first to the ground from a height of several stories and suffered no evident injuries.

She is proficient in espionage and reconnaissance work from her years in the Resistance, partaking in numerous solo missions over several years. For stealth missions, she designed and built a robot disguise suit.

Rivet (6)

Equipment:

Rivet's primary weapon is a hammer made of ultra-light teratannium with a hyper grip handle, (the same as Ratchet's OmniWrench Millennium 12) which can also be used to turn hammercranks to operate machinery. She possesses an arsenal of powerful offensive weapons, including a Burst Pistol, Negatron Collider, Warmonger, and the RYNO 8. She also uses deployed tactical weapons to immobilize enemies such as the Topiary Sprinkler and Cold Snap, and weapons that summon aid in combat such as the Glove of Doom and Mr. Fungi.

Her robotic arm features a fully rotational shoulder joint, and has a built-in Omniglove, which includes a Swingshot, Phantom Dash, Rift Tether, and later a Hurlshot. Amongst her gadgets are Grind Boots for grinding at speed along rails, Glide Boots with deceleration pads for gliding across gaps, Magneboots for walking on magnetic surfaces, Hoverboots for traveling at speed across terrain, and an O2 Filtrator mask for breathing in environments devoid of oxygen.

At her hideout, Rivet has a large amount of computer equipment she uses in her Resistance work, as well as engineering tools. She owns a one-size-fits-all robot disguise suit, which she uses to blend in with the robotic denizens of Nefarious City, and possesses a stolen Royal Starship for interstellar travel.

Kit (1)

Kit (full designation KT-7461) is one of the main characters in Rift Apart. Hailing from Rivet's dimension, she is the dimensional counterpart of Clank. Kit was a warbot who worked for Emperor Nefarious before eventually leaving him and exiling herself on Savali with the monks, becoming Gary's apprentice.

Kit remained in exile due to her own destructive capabilities until she met Ratchet. After initially struggling with partnership due to fear of herself, she reluctantly teamed up with him, and later Rivet, to battle Dr. Nefarious and Emperor Nefarious.

KT-7461 was built to be a weapon for the Nefarious Empire, to keep the Emperor's galaxy secure. He would often call her his greatest weapon, something she took pride in. One night on patrol, after Rivet found a secret entrance to the Emperor's tower and attempted to infiltrate alone, Kit snuck up on her and blasted her right arm off before suddenly stopping her attack. The incident caused Kit to flee to Savali to keep the universe safe from her.

At some point, she became the apprentice of Gary, the All-Seeing Cosmic Prophet of Interdimensional Sector 2-2-5-5, Phase Omega. Gary trained her to use spheres when guiding her possibilities to meta-terminals in interdimensional sectors. Gary found Kit to be talented and resourceful, though she doubted her own abilities. Though the monks got along well with her, she avoided forming friendships with them, learning social cues purely from observing them while otherwise isolating herself.

Appeareance:

Kit is a short, yellow and black robot with rounded features and blue optics that change to red when she is on duty. She has two orange light bulbs on the top of her head and four blue lights on her chest, three in a triangular shape and the fourth in the middle of the triangle. In her warbot form, she is much larger and more imposing.

Kit (2)

Personality:

Kit is polite and straightforward, morally driven, and is often downbeat. She is intelligent and insightful, and prefers to think things through rather than improvise. She can, however, be very pessimistic about her abilities and chances of success, which leads her to fear that she will disappoint her peers. Despite her own self-confidence issues, she still provides encouragement to her friends to see the best in themselves. Kit has a strong sense of morality and justice. Her favorite color is gold, like that of a gold bolt.

Kit is hindered by shame and fear of her capabilities, leading to heavy self-esteem issues and a penchant toward isolating herself. Kit feared opening up even to the Savali monks, and encouraged Ratchet multiple times not to befriend her. However, her fear of her destructive capabilities is purely internal, as Gary, Ratchet, and later Rivet believed she could be a good partner. Though Kit did come out of her shell, she would often regress after using her warbot form. Kit's shame also prevented her from using it other than reluctantly in dire circumstances to protect her friends, until after she confronted her fear, at which point she used it in the battle at Megalopolis.

Kit's friendship with Ratchet played a pivotal role in helping her overcome her hesitations and improve her outlook. Clank also served as a positive role model for her. However, Rivet's influence truly enabled Kit to complete her journey. Despite their rocky start and hesitancy toward partnership, their first missions together were friendly and led to Rivet trusting her enough to share her past. After their falling out, Rivet told Kit how she could have faced her head-on instead of hiding from them, which resonated with Kit and prompted her to stop running and to face Emperor Nefarious.

Kit (3)

Abilities:

Kit can transform into a giant warbot similar to Giant Clank. In this form, she has access to immense physical strength and a variety of weapons like rockets and lasers. Like Clank, she can also access the space between dimensions to fix dimensional anomalies, having been trained by Gary.

Emperor Nefarious (1)

Emperor Nefarious is the main antagonist of Rift Apart. Hailing from Rivet's dimension, he is the dimensional counterpart of Dr. Nefarious who has always been successful in his dimension. His Nefarious Empire rules almost his entire dimension, aside from a few forces that resist him.

Emperor Nefarious' main challenge came from Rivet and the Resistance forces that oppose him. When Dr. Nefarious used the Dimensionator to travel to the dimension and take the Emperor's place, Emperor Nefarious tried to stop him. Battling Ratchet and Clank, and his former warbot Kit, he saw the Dimensionator as a tool through which to extend his conquest ambitions and invade all other dimensions.

As with his counterpart, Emperor Nefarious is self-absorbed and power-hungry and leads entire armies of followers in his conquest. Unlike his counterpart, he is used to achieving success, driven more by a desire for power than by vindication or vengeance. Emperor Nefarious largely surrounds himself with sycophants, namely the Emperor's Assistant, and demands adoration from those beneath him, having those who oppose or fail him either killed or sent to Zordoom Prison. The Emperor's imagery is seen throughout his dimension to honor him, particularly in Nefarious City, Corson V.

Emperor Nefarious (2)

Emperor Nefarious' rise to power and the extent of the history he shares with Dr. Nefarious is unknown. He took over Corson V ten years prior to the events of Rift Apart. Prior to his rise, Zordoom Prison was filled with legitimate criminals, though his rise led to the prison being overcrowded with those who opposed him. The Emperor has referred to himself as having a trophy case of "countless victories", likely referring to battles against the Resistance.

At some point, Emperor Nefarious Sheepinated his dimension's Drek, and wiped out a kerchu tribe harvesting gelatonium in Outpost L51, Sargasso, for misspelling his name on their tax returns.

By the time of Rift Apart, the Emperor's hitlist of individuals who opposed him comprised Phantom, MoyDoy, Captain Quantum, Clatchky, and Rivet. In the greatest job he ever pulled, Captain Quantum's space pirates bugged Emperor Nefarious, allowing them to see his every move and thus to survive against him. Though Rivet was the Emperor's greatest foe, the Emperor hoped Rivet would join his side and built armor in case she did

Emperor Nefarious (3)

As of the start of Rift Apart, Emperor Nefarious had left his galaxy for conquest, vacating the throne at Nefarious City. Dr. Nefarious used the Dimensionator to travel to the dimension and claimed to be Emperor Nefarious, with the Emperor's followers then pledging loyalty. Emperor Nefarious returned after seeing Dr. Nefarious' battle with Rivet at Zurkie's on the news, traveling there and instantly defeating Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit. There, Dr. Nefarious pleaded to allow him to join forces with the Emperor to fight rebels together, something Emperor Nefarious accepted as he then sent an army to Sargasso to attack Rivet's hideout. Emperor Nefarious retook his throne and sent messages to Nefarious City, calling out Dr. Nefarious as an impostor and promising to "deal with" the citizens of Nefarious City who did not realize that Dr. Nefarious was an imposter, and intimidating messages promising to kill the Rubion Forge staff on Cordelion for the damage they had allowed Ratchet and Kit to cause.

On Sargasso, as Rivet and Kit went to stop the attack, the Emperor watched alongside Dr. Nefarious from a distance. He told Rivet over hologram that he was too exhausted from defeating her allies to waste energy fighting. He and the doctor mocked them, as he claimed to be rooting for Rivet to see how far her futile resistance efforts would go. When Rivet eventually stopped the Emperor's cruisers from destroying the planet, he arrived and elected not to send her to Zordoom via the portal but to throw her in a pocket dimension instead, unaware she had the means to escape. Meanwhile, the Emperor also traveled to Ardolis and, after finding Captain Quantum through a spy device, used the Dimensionator to create a portal to travel there, and then used one to send Quantum to Zordoom, though Quantum rescued Ratchet and Clank before they could be thrown into the portal themselves.

Emperor Nefarious (4)

With the apparent defeat of Ratchet, Rivet, and Quantum, Emperor Nefarious began to celebrate his universal conquest, only to be stricken with a feeling of emptiness. Dr. Nefarious suggested that he felt this way because he had finally achieved total success and thus no longer had anything to strive for, a comment that angered the Emperor until he realized that many other dimensions were yet to be conquered, and he strove to invade them to truly fulfill himself. He then set off to Savali in search of the Dimensional Map to find the other dimensions to conquer.

Gary and the monks hid the map inside a dimensional anomaly, leading the Emperor to capture Gary after learning this and continue opening portals until he found it. The Emperor's overuse of the Dimensionator caused armies of undead to appear from another dimension, slowing the Emperor's forces. However, he eventually reached the catacombs and took the map from Clank, sending Ratchet and Clank to Zordoom. Rivet and Kit arrived, Kit revealing her warbot form to attack Emperor Nefarious; though Emperor Nefarious cowered in response at first, Dr. Nefarious saved him by using the Dimensionator to trap Kit in Zordoom. Unbeknownst to him, Rivet traveled to Zordoom and broke Ratchet, Clank, Kit, and the Resistance out.

Emperor Nefarious then announced his plans to conquer the multiverse, beginning with Ratchet's dimension, something that irked Dr. Nefarious who wanted to rule his dimension himself. Invading Megalopolis on Ratchet's Corson V, he mocked Dr. Nefarious for being defeated by Ratchet and Clank there, as he set out to prove that Dr. Nefarious' reason for never being successful there was down to his failures and not to the Emperor's. The Emperor and doctor piloted an Imperial Power Suit in their invasion.

Emperor Nefarious (5)

After Ratchet destroyed the power suit, Emperor Nefarious angrily created numerous portals to summon a larger invading force, dealing greater damage to the dimensional integrity. He then fought Rivet as Kit defended her from his army, dismissing the damage he was causing, and as Rivet bested him, he ultimately chose to collapse all dimensions on each other if he could not win. As Rivet took the Dimensionator, Ratchet and Clank used it to summon a kraken named Bubbles to pull Emperor Nefarious to his doom. In a desperate attempt, Emperor Nefarious begged for Dr. Nefarious' help, though Dr. Nefarious dismissed him and kicked his hand away, allowing the kraken to drag him away with it.
