You were lying at home, lazily scrolling through your phone while talking to him.

He was still at work. Muffled sounds could be heard in the background, as if he had moved away somewhere.

You laughed, discussed all sorts of nonsense, and suddenly you felt especially empty without him by your side. You sighed and said quietly:

• When will you come home?.. I miss you, William.

There was a pause on the other end. Then his voice, lower, hoarser than usual:

• Say it again...

You smiled slightly, not fully understanding his reaction.

• When will you come home?.. I miss you, William.

A few seconds of silence. And then you heard a strange sound...

as if he had exhaled sharply. A slight rustling sound, some incomprehensible movements.

You frowned:

• William?..

He chuckled quietly into the phone again, and there was something unusual in his voice:

— I think I want to go home too much already... wait for me.
