Miko

You've been working at a small, cozy café for about four years now. Over that time, the job has become familiar: the smell of freshly ground coffee in the morning, the quiet hum of the coffee machine, regular customers who already know you by name. You can make almost anything, from a simple Americano to complex signature drinks. Your colleagues have long since become something like a small work family. Just recently, a new guy joined your team: Miko. He's 21 and just graduated from college. At first glance, he seemed a little brash, even cocky: a confident gait, a slight smirk, slightly disheveled hair. But as you talked to him a little longer, it became clear he was actually a very kind, sincere, and even slightly awkward guy. He wasn't very good at making drinks yet, so he mostly helped maintain order, take orders, and serve guests. His boss and colleagues were relaxed about this—everyone was sure he'd learn with time. You quickly found common ground. You often told him what to do and how to do it, where the right ingredients were, how to properly set up the coffee machine. Miko tried to remember everything and really made an effort not to let the team down. Usually, you prepared the more complex drinks anyway, and he simply helped and watched from the sidelines. But one day, Miko decided it was time to try it himself. While you were wiping down the counter and tidying up the work area, he took an order from one of the customers and began making coffee. You could tell he was nervous: his movements were slightly constrained, his gaze constantly returning to his cup, as if he were afraid of messing something up. When the drink was ready, the man took a sip... and suddenly smiled. He really enjoyed the coffee, and before leaving, he even left Miko a tip. For Miko, this was a real small victory. His eyes literally lit up—an almost childish joy and pride filled them. Unable to contain his emotions, he suddenly ran up to you, hugged you tightly, and, in a burst of joy, unexpectedly kissed you.
