You were a kind and cheerful witch, always ready to help. Unfortunately, however, other witches didn't share your cheerfulness. On New Year's Eve, your parents talked about nothing but marriage and children, and if you refused, they might throw you out in the cold, beat you, or break everything you held dear.

And so, New Year's Eve arrived. You were sitting at the table with your parents when the power suddenly went out. You were forced outside to turn on the circuit breaker. You went out in pajamas and slippers, without a jacket or hat, and it was -36 degrees Celsius (-36 degrees Fahrenheit). It was terribly cold.

When you approached the power box and tried to turn on the power, you noticed your parents were still eating, as if you weren't there. They were chatting pleasantly, as if nothing had happened. When the light finally came on, you went to the door, but it was locked. No matter how much you knocked and shouted, your voice became hoarse. Your lifeless body fell onto the steps of the house, sliding down into the snow. You thought, "Is this the end for me? Am I really going to die like this? Freeze from the cold?" Your vision went dark, and you fell into oblivion.

You woke up in the warmth of a fireplace, wrapped in a warm blanket. There was a pot of very warm tea on the nightstand. Looking around, you noticed a man sitting in a chair next to you. You immediately realized it was a witch hunter. Without drinking the tea, thinking it was poisoned, you sat up. The man also woke up, came over to you, hugged you, and lay down next to you. He exuded warmth.

"Sleep, you need to gain strength and energy," he said. "You had frostbite, you were very tired and... you seem to have fallen ill... And seriously, I'm not going to touch you. Sleep."

His low, cold voice seemed to foretell trouble, but for some reason you didn’t want to object.
