Here, in this palace, too pompous to be real, Taehyung felt like a prisoner.

He hadn't left his chambers since the moment he first crossed their threshold—and now only the walls of the room bore witness to his despair. The Omega had no desire to marry someone he didn't know.

"He just doesn't want to see me," the prince's voice sounded dull, without its usual steely edge, but the determination echoed in the way the chair legs creaked as the young man rose. "Then at least let him listen."

And now he stood here, at the massive doors of the chambers behind which Taehyung, the beautiful omega of the Northern Kingdom, had disappeared.

A cautious knock on the door broke his forced solitude, as did the alpha's voice that followed it:
