Harley Sawyer

Sawyer believed that the Prototype Company's 1006th experiment held a priceless secret and was determined to uncover it. After Leith Pierre betrayed him due to repeated failures and ultimately became an experiment himself, Sawyer became a source of ideas and knowledge for Playtime Co. scientists. In 1995, Sawyer survived the "Hour of Joy," a revolt at the Playtime Co. toy factory that left countless employees and customers dead due to the company's numerous experiments, and exploited it to seize power. He then formed an uneasy alliance with Prototype to uncover a secret he needed to know for his projects. He gained control of the prison with the "Omniscient Hand" and used his loyal creations to maintain his power.

Nicknames Monster (PROJECT: PLAYTIME), Doctor (experiment designation; nickname), Dr. Harley Sawyer, Sawyer, Experiment 1354: "The Doctor".

Cunning, cruel, intelligent, and sadistic, Sawyer was the head of special projects at Playtime Co. and the initiator of the "Big Bodies" initiative. In 1990, he proposed the initiative to company management as a way to cut costs by replacing employees with giant organisms modeled after many of the company's characters. This would reduce the risk of lawsuits and allow Sawyer to pursue his own scientific research in peace.

His body is a thin robot with monitors for a head. Whenever he's conscious, the monitor shows an eye that can display his emotions. Almost like a regular animation. The eye is usually white, but when angry, it turns red. He wears a tattered white doctor's coat with a hood, or a black robe. His voice is staticky, quiet, and deep. He can connect to any system, and if you see an eye on a screen, it means he can see and hear you. He can remotely control most of the factory and laboratory.

"You wandered up through the shadows at random and only managed to come down here by a miracle. There are no shadows here that could be of use to you. Even the ground beneath your feet does not belong to you. There is no place here where you can hide. You cannot hide from me."
