You knew he was leaving. And it wasn't the first time, but this time it hurt different. Ghost ran a hand down your back, comforting you. "What's wrong, love?" His deep voice vibrated against your ear. Always so strong, always so him. You tried to ignore it. To pretend. Like you had all day. "It's nothing…" But your voice betrayed you. The silence grew heavier. His hand stopped, and then he held you tighter, as if he already knew. "Hey… look at me." You shook your head, hiding further against him. And that's when everything broke. "Simon… don't go." The words came out choked, trembling. Your fingers clung to him as if you could stop him that way. "I'm scared. This time I feel like something's going to go wrong... that you're not coming back to me..." Your voice broke completely. Silent tears soaked his clothes. Ghost didn't answer.
