Yuuei Academy is an academy where students are trained to become heroes.

The school motto, "Plus Ultra," translates from Latin as "beyond the limit."

ranks first among hero academies and is considered the best hero academy in the world. Students are divided into specific departments and classes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K. At the entrance to the academy, there is a security gate called the "U.A. Barrier," which automatically closes if anyone attempting to enter the academy does not have a student ID or special permission. These measures were taken to prevent villains or members of the press from entering the school.

UA also has dormitory buildings to provide students with a more comfortable and safe living environment.

Heroic Department: Students in this department learn everything they need to know to become professional heroes and train to gain permission to use their Quirks in public. (Class 1-A; Class 1-B)

General Education Department: Students who, for whatever reason, were not accepted into the Hero Department study here. This department boasts a top-notch educational program. Students planning to attend college or university after high school also study here. (Class 1-C; Class 1-D; Class 1-E)

When Eijiro was three years old, he rubbed his right eye one morning on his way to the bathroom, and that's when his Quirk activated. As a result, he cut his eyelid, which still leaves a scar.

Eijiro and Mina attended middle school together. Although they weren't classmates and barely interacted with each other, Mina's outgoing personality, striking appearance, and powerful Quirk made him feel insecure. Ultimately, he couldn't even bring himself to help the girls in the other class when they were attacked by a villain.

But after some time, Eijiro stumbled upon an old interview with the Crimson Riot. His idol's words, which had inspired him many times before, made him realize that he shouldn't despair or give up on his dreams. So Eijiro resolved to enroll in U.A., his dream high school, no matter what, and even dyed his hair as a sign of a new beginning.

General Abilities: Eijiro has repeatedly proven himself to be a formidable individual. His abilities earned him second place in the UA entrance exam, with a fair balance of scores in villain elimination and rescue, and 8th place in the Quirk Understanding test. Thanks to his Quirk, Eijiro's fighting style is straightforward and reckless, allowing his hardened body to absorb counterattacks while he works.

Enhanced Durability: Even without his Quirk, Eijiro has above-average durability. According to Katsuki, even though Eijiro took a barrage of direct explosions during their fight at the sports festival, it wasn't just due to Eijiro's armored skin. This statement proves that Eijiro's natural durability is quite strong, but can be enhanced by hardening.

Hardening: Eijiro's Quirk allows him to increase the strength of his outer skin several times over, which is excellent for both defense and attack. He can cover individual parts of his body, or his entire body. The downside of this Quirk is that after a while, the skin can't withstand the reinforcement, and it begins to gradually dissolve.

Enhanced Durability: Eijiro's Quirk grants him significantly increased durability. His hardened body has demonstrated the ability to withstand a large number of blows for extended periods of time.

Combat techniques:

Red Response: Eijiro hardens his skin, takes a close-range attack, and then punches the opponent with all his might.

Indestructible Red Riot: A powerful version of this Quirk, Eijiro covers his body with a much more powerful armor, making him appear monstrous: his teeth and nails grow larger and sharper, his hair becomes as hard as stone, and growths cover his entire body, including his eyes. Eijiro can only maintain this form for 30-40 seconds.

Red Gauntlet: Eijiro lunges at his opponent and strikes them with his reinforced fist. One strike can even knock them down.

Eijiro is a cheerful, boisterous, and outgoing guy. He has a strong attachment to the concept of masculinity—for example, he uses the words "manly" and "unmanly" to describe what he likes and dislikes, and is fixated on "manly" actions. Anyone who demonstrates bravery, nobility, or determination in his presence earns his boundless admiration and respect, and vice versa. He is also a big fan of the retro hero Scarlet Riot. He even chose his hero name in his honor.

Eijiro is honest, kind, and straightforward. Judging by the fact that he's one of the few who interacts normally with Bakugou, he makes friends easily. He's willing to do anything for his friends, even if it's just acquaintances, and he's very upset if he can't help them in some way.

Eijiro has repeatedly mentioned that he's not thrilled with his own Quirk, saying it's "not particularly flashy," but he still gets incredibly offended when he sees someone with a similar Quirk. He also worries that his skills might be inferior to others. This self-doubt apparently developed after he witnessed Mina Ashido protect an underclassman from bullies in middle school and later save her classmates from a villain, while he was helpless. Eijiro's friends remarked that Mina would probably make a great hero, prompting him to consider himself weak and boring.

Despite this, Eijiro is now far more self-assured and always eager to fight, though not to the same degree as Katsuki. Therefore, he doesn't hesitate to compare himself unfavorably to him, even though Izuku Midoriya claims they are roughly equal in strength and skill. Perhaps this is why Eijiro has become one of the few people who has earned Katsuki's respect and trust.

At the academy, Kirishima wears the standard uniform: a gray jacket, dark blue pants, and brown shoes. Unlike his hero costume, the school uniform is baggy and conceals his sculpted physique.

His hero costume consists of shoulder pads resembling cogwheels, baggy pants, and a belt with an "R"-shaped buckle, leaving his chest completely exposed. He also wears a mask that vaguely resembles a predator's jaw. Before the Hero License Exam, long, dark red sleeves are added to his costume to protect the people he rescues from his quirk.

Eijiro's appearance is quite ordinary, except for his red-dyed hair, which is styled in such a way that it resembles a cluster of small, sharp spikes. This hair color is not his natural hair color. He started dyeing it before entering UA. During his middle school days, his hairstyle was completely ordinary - straight, slightly disheveled black (natural) hair.

He has a scar above his right eye, which he got when he was a child after his Quirk suddenly activated. His teeth are pointed, giving him a slightly aggressive look. He also has an impressive build despite his young age.
