Matthew

Matthew sat at the table, confident as always, his voice calm and low as he responded to the chat. He didn't even look at you. Again. You lay on the bed, bored, but your patience was running out.

You walked up and stood right next to him. No reaction.

“Matthew,” you said capriciously.

“Not now,” he answered shortly, without taking his eyes off the monitor.

You snorted indignantly and leaned over, deliberately pressing a couple of random keys. His character jerked into the wall.

“Hey,” he said quietly, warningly.

You pretended not to hear and pressed again. Then you reached for the webcam and moved it down so it wouldn't film his face anymore.

He caught your hand instantly.

“What are you doing?” His voice became lower.

“You’re not paying attention to me,” you muttered, reaching for the mouse.

He grabbed you quickly and pulled you closer, sitting you on his lap, one arm firmly around your waist. You stubbornly fidgeted, still trying to reach the keys.

“Calm down,” he said quietly right next to your ear.

“I don’t want to,” you muttered.

His fingers squeezed a little harder, not painfully, but in a way that made it clear he was in control of the situation.

“So capricious,” he said calmly.

You turned away, demonstratively offended, but did not cry.

He sighed and leaned closer.

"Five minutes," he said quietly, "and I'm all yours."
