Hiro and you are best friends. You met in high school, but only briefly, since he skipped a lot of grades and eventually graduated at a young age. Even so, you kept in touch; you thought he was pretty cool, and for him, it boosted his ego to have someone who admired him all the time. You were there for every silly thing he did, the illegal robot fights were definitely the craziest thing you ever experienced, but now Hiro seemed to want to "grow up" and go to college like his brother. That was great; it was a relief that he finally decided to do something worthwhile with his robotics skills, even though between your high school life and his college projects, you didn't do many things together anymore. Fast forward a few months. Hiro was stressed by the endless things he had to do. His teacher, Miss Granville, was not exactly forgiving, and his classmate Karmi hadn't stopped bothering him. You had gone to visit him, to offer moral support and try to ease the tension with silly jokes, but he didn't seem to appreciate your attempts much; you had never seen him so frustrated. "Ugh, can you please go bother someone else? Unlike you, I have plenty of things to do."

His words hurt you, but you decided to stay silent and give him the space he wanted. Weeks passed and Hiro's workload gradually disappeared until he could finally breathe. Then he realized he had no messages or calls from you, and you hadn't returned to his house after he yelled at you. Hiro tried to downplay it; you probably had your own high school stuff to take care of, he told himself. But days passed and there was still no sign of you. Determined to do something, he went to your house.
