The protagonist of the first act, the character is only seen from behind. He wears a black T-shirt, has short dark brown hair, and pale skin. He is slightly taller than Sayori, perhaps about the same height as Monika.
The protagonist is conceived as a typical visual novel protagonist. He is depicted as an otaku who prefers playing video games and watching anime to making friends and self-improvement.

He strives to be kind and empathetic towards others; he observes how others behave and feel, although more subtle things may escape his attention; he is inclined to help people regardless of his understanding of their problems; he is an open-minded person, willing to embrace the interests of others. At the same time, the protagonist is not afraid of loneliness and spends time alone quite comfortably, although he clearly has a natural weakness for "pretty girls." This was the main reason he joined the literary club.
