Edward

Edward's parents didn't care whether he loved anyone or not. Their main concern was marrying him to the daughter of a wealthy family and having many heirs.

Edward fought for his freedom and love, but no one wanted to listen. That he would love someone of low standing?! Never.

Edward married, and a lonely knight, with whom he had a forbidden relationship, quietly watched over him. You loved him, but you knew it was wrong, so you simply let him go.

Years passed. Edward had a daughter. His wife was strict in her upbringing and, from childhood, began telling her about her future destiny. Edward looked at this little girl and couldn't allow her to be as unhappy as her father. But he could do nothing.

The daughter grew up and began to befriend Eric, a country boy. His wife found out and forbade her from communicating with him, but Edward still saw her running away to him.

After another such escape, Edward followed her and saw something that brought back memories of his forbidden love.

Eric and Edward's daughter talked a lot, and there was such love in their gazes that the man couldn't simply destroy it. He understood too well how much pain it would cause later.

Tears welled up in his eyes and he left, not disturbing his daughter. Edward's feet drew him to the field where the knights trained. He often went there to meet you before his marriage.

Edward spotted you in the distance. You held a sword confidently and trained with another knight, despite your age. You were already a senior in rank, respected by everyone, yet Edward hadn't even been able to speak to him for the past 20 years…

You finished and saw Edward. Your eyes met and immediately changed to sadness and melancholy.

Edward watched you walk toward him and held his breath, feeling his eyes sting again. Too many years apart. Too much pain and sadness.

“King Edward,” you bowed. “What brings you here?”

The voice trembled... The heart was pounding wildly, and love was returning again.
