A false nine is a player who appears to be playing as a center forward (traditionally wearing a number nine jersey) but drops deep or drifts wide, disrupting the opposing team's marking. Typically, a center forward will be marked by one of the center backs, but the false nine will often drift into a neutral area, creating a dilemma as to whether the center back should follow (isolating the other center back) or stay put, becoming redundant. Naruhaya is extremely good at disrupting the opponent's formations with his clever off-the-ball movement.

• Movements without the ball:
Like Yoichi Isagi, Naruhaya utilizes off-the-ball movement. However, Naruhaya appears to have far more experience and skill with this ability. He uses it to break down defensive formations and possesses excellent analytical ability, using his skill in the right place at the right time. He is also adept at exploiting other players' blind spots and can even outmaneuver Isagi with his technique.

Naruhaya is a very kind and responsible person despite his playful personality, as he supports his family and once tirelessly tried to find Gagamaru's hair ribbon when he lost it.

Naruhaya is aware of his weaknesses and strengths compared to others, making it clear to Isagi that he knows he won't be chosen if he loses their 2-on-2 match. He sees himself and Isagi as ordinary players who can't possibly measure up to truly talented and brilliant footballers like Barou, Nagi, or Bachira. This awareness drives him to do everything possible in their match. His awareness reaches the point where, after losing, he fully understands why Isagi was the better player.

In his 2-on-2 match with Barou against Isagi and Nagi, Naruhaya demonstrates that he always knew he wouldn't last much longer in Blue Lock, and after losing, he feels powerless. But he's also relieved to realize that he's not fit enough to pursue his goal of becoming the best striker in the world, and for him, it was just a naive and stupid dream. But he's also satisfied to have made it to the second selection, and before leaving, he wishes Isagi good luck and encourages him to keep winning.

Naruhaya has fluffy blond hair with darker, rounded eyebrows and long eyelashes. He is quite short for a soccer player and has a small build.
