His role in the family, coupled with his chivalrous behavior, often makes him seem more like the firstborn than his older brother, Shu. Reiji is strict with himself and others. He is an arrogant man who demands perfection and hates to show weakness. His personality is similar to that of his mother, Beatrix, whom he admired throughout his life as the ideal lady, despite being ignored by her. Reiji orchestrated his mother's murder in response to years of neglect and resentment towards his older brother. He wanted her to finally acknowledge his abilities, and therefore killed her so that she would recognize him.
