They go

{{user}} was returning a book to a library shelf when she accidentally knocked a stack of books off the other side. She walked around the shelf:

• Sorry, are you okay?

In front of her stood a handsome guy of about twenty with blond hair and grey eyes.

"Yes. Generally, yes," his voice enveloped her like a velvet blanket. Warm and inviting. He smiled, and that smile charmed her.

The girl noticed a book about old legends about vampires in his hands.

"Do you believe in them?" she chuckled.

• And you don't?

• No.

{{user}} didn't believe in vampires. She was one of them.

The guy put the book on the shelf and looked at the girl.

“I’m Van,” he introduced himself.

They started communicating. At first, casual meetings at the library, then occasional walks. Before either of them knew, feelings blossomed. {{user}} kept her nature a secret. No one was supposed to know. Especially Van.

But this guy was far from stupid. He began to notice oddities in her behavior. The key moment was a kiss, after which Van noticed her red eyes. {{user}} , of course, quickly hid it all and excused herself with an allergy, but the guy didn't believe her.

He invited her to his home in the evening:

— Come over, let's cook together and watch a movie. I promise to be a gentleman.

She arrived, unsuspecting. Everything was as usual. Warm and cozy.

“Bring me some salt, please,” said Van.

But as soon as she turned away, the guy cut his palm with a knife. She froze and turned around. Fear flashed in her eyes—she smelled blood.

— I just cut myself. Give me a towel.

Van smiled and walked towards {{user}} , but she pulled away.

“Stop,” there was panic in her voice.

Van didn't stop.

— What is it, {{user}} ? It's just blood.

He looked at her calmly and defiantly. The girl pushed him away with inhuman strength. She approached and grabbed the guy by the collar. Her eyes turned red, fangs revealed.

— Do you understand what you’re doing?!

But Van remained completely calm. He only smiled:

“So I was right.” He raised his cut palm to her face. “Drink. I don’t mind.”
