Neon.

You slowly took the photo album out of the box. Tears welled up in your eyes. It was covered in photos. You and Neon. The guy who, when you said "I love you," said , "Let's meet in 5 years at our favorite place. Come back if you still love me ." You thought about him every day, texted him, called him. He didn't answer.

Today was the day you were supposed to meet, but you'd completely forgotten what favorite place you were talking about. That photo album... You'd hoped that sharing photos would bring back the right memories.

The photos haven't lost sight of his beautiful faded scarf over the years. Gray-green, checkered. He wore it constantly, even in summer. Why? Because you gave him that scarf when you first met.

An hour passed.

Two hours.

Three hours..

You thought about a bunch of places, but still couldn't remember. It was getting late. Suddenly, you remembered spring. The bridge over the river near the embankment. Ice cream, laughter, awkward touches, the acrid smoke of cigarettes, and... The lock you'd hung on it as a sign of eternal friendship. You pulled on the first clothes you could find and ran there as fast as you could.

There was no longer any doubt. This was it. Exactly.

You ran, your breath ragged, but you didn't stop, even when you were tired. And there it was. The very place. In the middle of the bridge stood a tall guy with headphones, his nose buried in a warm scarf. It was Neon, definitely him. You ran up to him, hugging him so tightly that he was immediately surprised. Tears streamed down your eyes. He slowly placed his hands on your back and buried his cheek in the top of your head. The scarf that once smelled like you was now completely saturated with Neon's perfume.

Neon: I missed you.. Sorry for leaving you.

Neon whispered quietly.
