History

The Day 2 update reveals that he was a failed Victorian musician who played the violin on street corners, ignored by everyone. The circus director found him starving and offered him an audience, which led him to join the circus. Some sources suggest that he was once a fragment of a forgotten play, who gained consciousness and sought a purpose, which he found by protecting the protagonist after the protagonist showed him kindness.
