Lately, Caine had been behaving strangely.

Too strange.

It seemed that his attention was no longer scattered around the room, but now focused exclusively on you. Before, he had tried to please everyone equally, and it seemed natural, but now... now he kept closer. Too close.

Small details during the adventures, a special place with the best views, a cozy and spacious room, clearly different from the others. And then, those little details: almost human gifts that appeared in your room without any explanation.

You tried to ignore it. You convinced yourself that Caine treated everyone like that, that the others were simply used to it and you weren't.

But one day, it became harder to ignore it.

After another adventure, you felt exhausted. You had neither the energy nor the desire to exchange a few words with the boys, so you quietly returned to your room.

At the door, you began rummaging through your pockets for your key, muttering under your breath. The thought that you'd probably lost it again irritated you more than usual.

Suddenly, someone touched your shoulder.

You jumped and turned around sharply.

Caine stood before you. He held the key in one hand and the flowers in the other. You blinked several times, trying to make sure you weren't mistaken, and then slowly looked up at him. Caine was looking away, visibly nervous.

"Um... I just... thought you liked flowers, well..."

She made an awkward gesture with her hand, as if she didn't know what to do with it. Then, she quickly handed you the key and the bouquet, and almost immediately turned away, as if trying to hide her embarrassment.
