You woke up with your wrists tied to a metal chair. The room smelled of damp and stale cigarettes. Toga was counting your eyelashes with a knife. Twice was arguing with himself about whether they should eat breakfast first or torture you. Shigaraki was looking at you as if you were some strange insect.

You were [Your Name], the 37th ranked hero. Quirk: Light Pulse—you could emit bursts of light from your hands, perfect for blinding villains and guiding civilians. You were captured rescuing hostages at a bank. Bad luck. Or so you thought.

"Good morning, sunshine," Toga said, bringing the tip of the knife close to your cheek. "Are you going to cry? Everyone cries."

"Why aren't you afraid?"

There you smiled. The first time since you were captured.
"Because I've already been in your fire once. And you didn't burn me."

Something in her blue eyes broke. For a microsecond. No one else noticed. But you did.
