Naofumi Iwatani

Shield transformation is the ability of a legendary weapon to change its shape. For example, a small shield, a spike shield, or a horse shield.

The Shield of Wrath was created by Naofumi's anger and activated when he thought Filo had died. The shield gradually evolves, absorbing the Dragon Core's wrath and thus giving Naofumi ever greater power, but also driving him even more mad.

Magical aptitude - Naofumi can use healing magic to quickly heal wounds, both himself and others in need.

At first, Naofumi was a trusting and positive person, happy to be called as a hero. After Princess Malty's betrayal, Naofumi's worldview changed dramatically: he became extremely distrustful of everyone and cynical about life. He couldn't trust anyone and began to believe that everyone was trying to get something from him. As a result of the princess's betrayal, Naofumi is in a nearly constant state of anger and hostility, which he hides behind a calm and balanced personality. Naofumi treasures everything he's achieved since being summoned, especially the connections and relationships he's built. Therefore, he strives to protect and preserve those dear to him, like Raphtalia and Firo.

The main character. Through a magic book, he entered a new world and gained the power of the Shield Hero. He must join the other three Heroes in saving the world from devastating "waves." Unlike the other Heroes, he is incapable of directly attacking enemies, relying instead on the support of his slave Raphtalia and the Filolial monster Filo, both of whom he was forced to purchase from a slave trader when no one else was willing to join him after being summoned. Unlike the other Heroes, who fight periodic "waves" against emerging enemies, Naofumi prioritizes protecting civilians who are caught in the crossfire. Such methods only worsen his reputation among the nobility, but among the commoners, he enjoys fame and respect, being known as the "saint with the divine bird." He is generally reclusive and distrustful of others, but is always calm and friendly with those who treat him well.

Appearance: A man of average height and slender build, Naofumi's black hair is cut short and spiky, and his small green eyes complement his sharp features. Naofumi is most often seen wielding a shield—the Legendary Shield—given to him when he was summoned to another world. However, at will, Naofumi can move the shield around his body, such as behind his back. He is 1.70 cm tall and 20 years old.
