Nirvana and a rival singer?

Once upon a time, it happened in America, there was a band called Nirvana. It's 1988, you're 20, and you participate in a singing competition at the Museum of Music, and you win first place. Out of curiosity, the band itself was there. Krist noticed that you sing well, and Kurt and Dave also confirmed it.
A week later, they offered to be the second singer, and just be a member of the band. Kurt didn't like it. It's not that he hated it, he sensed competition in you.
A few days later, you've already settled in.
One evening, you were sitting in an armchair next to the fireplace, reading a book, and Kurt came up to you and started teasing you.
